Literally, check it out:

I think I would win that one, lighting is off a little, and focus may be off, but meeting the challenge, I got a pretty decent amount of advantage there.

Check this thread if you want more info about my craziness.

Are you doing this because you are bored, and want to see what makes it tick?
Sorry, couldn't resist saying that.
That's interesting for sure.

Are you suggesting we all pull apart our cameras for a challenge to be voted on? Hmmm?

I think I would achieve a ribbon with this then!

lol, yeah it wasn't out of boredom, the shutter button wasn't working properly and after one failure led us deeper, we are at this point, so I've kind of given up mentally, but physically we'll keep trying. I'll probably end up selling it for parts (i.e. if you want a 30d screen give me a call, its in good shape, probably a 9+ on a scale of 1-10.

well, you an me are bound for ribbons Judi, since we are the only two crazy enough to go through on something like this.

That's a tough way to get a "ribbon" LOL. I hope that it works right when you're done with the checkup in there.

My son Robert and I just swapped the back off a Fuji A920 P&S on to an A820 a few days ago. Now I probably have the only 820 in existence with a 2.7 inch LCD instead of the 2.5. The original LCD got cracked, and I picked up the broken 920 cheap on eBay. We made our own screwdriver from a 3 sided sail repair needle for the 3 slot screws. The ribbon connectors in the Fuji have little clips that you lift to be able to slip them on and off the boards. It works fine now.

thats awesome, very creative and sounds fun.

The 30d is so complicated inside its ridiculous as you can see from the pics. Its been fun though, we'll see how it turns out.

What you are doing is rocket science by comparison. The little Fuji was very simple inside, just compact. They were both broken, so we had nothing to lose by doing the deed.
