| Brother needs a good camera with a view finder (as he shoots in the sun a lot) for brochure work. I didn't realize how few didn't have one. |

What's the budget?
At the low end, the Fujufilm Finepix S700/5700 can be had for under $200
The Canon Powershot S5 IS is very popular and can be found for about $300 now. My highest scoring entry was done with this camera.
At the high end, the Fujifilm S100fs goes for about $600 or so and is closer to an SLR in function than most other compacts.

Canon's A series, and I believe their G series, have viewfinders.

Canon G9 has a viewfinder, shoots RAW, functions much like a DSLR. I had one for a few months and liked it well enough, as P&S cameras go. Noisy above ISO 200, but built-in IS helps with slower shutter speeds.
