Just found a copy in my coffee mug which sat on my desk untouched since Thursday. :)
Seriously, since "The Sims" was so bad, I'm not sure "Spore" is gonna be all that great. Another yawnfest that's semi-cool for the first 10 minutes until it descends into repetition. |

My boy downloaded it last night. It took 3.5 hours to download... I think it was something like 3.2G in size!

Can't justify the upgrade to my powerbook to play it, but it looks interesting.

I like the promo video. British accent with a hint of sarcasm. Looks like more fun than Monte Python
But seriously, who wouldn't want to play the part of God?

I've played through most of spore in a couple days. It was entertaining but I don't think it came close to justifying the price. Thankfully I tried before I bought. I found it a tad too easy and not as deep as Maxis had claimed it would be. Note that I had high expectations and only played once as single player so your experience may differ from mine. |

I lost four hours of my life last night to Spore! I don't regret it. It was great fun, and I can't wait to play again tonight. I just can't stay up til 2am again... eeek! |

As long as its better than `The Sims`, I mean, any game based on my dysfunctional family is gonna be bad..... (although 100 million copies sold probably contradicts that).
May download it, is it available on Steam? |

It looks to me like The Sims 1,000,000 B.C.

nah it's not really like sims. i never liked sims myself. this is quite a feat in the gaming design sense. discovery channel had a special about the making of it saturday night.
i find it pretty fun. sort of a chose your own adventure. and rather than just go through the daily routine over and over you evolve as you accomplish things. and depending on how you evolve your tasks are different. at least it seems that way.
for instance i choose carnivore as my character. omnivore would make life easier for instance. then you build/modify your character as you move along.

It's interesting the number of "1 Star" ratings the game is getting over at Amazon.com, mostly having to do with DRM, but there are some complaints about the game play being dumbed down as well.
I haven't talked to my boy yet to find out what he thinks of it, so I guess I'll find out more tonight.

Soup, I think an alarm would be a great idea. I got through the creature stage last night, but I haven't left it yet since I want more parts first. I want a really cute creature for my next evolution! Right now, my Mumicantes is pretty silly looking! |

Putting the myth of evolution where it belongs... in a kiddy game. :) |

if you want a game about playing god try out Black and White, or Black and White 2 where you actually play a as a god.
I've heard people talking about this game but I haven't really played any games in so long that they've just kinda lost my interest. I do like playing games with people in a coop setting though. Team games are the most fun for me. |

Actually spore is 90% creationism and only 10% evolution despite their advertising to the opposite.
