What type of photography do you do?

This comes across as sort of rustic. Something I would expect to see in a historical section of town. Mainly due to the older looking font used for your name.

A thought that comes to mind is, that if the name fit inside the oval, then you could have oval stickers printed up to put on things, for promotional purposes. As is, you would have to have a rectangular sticker, with some background area that is unused, unless you were going to spend the big bucks on getting them custom die cut. If you were also going to replicate it on a sign for your studio, then again, the oval with the text inside would be cheaper if it is a 3D sign.

Overall I would say it is attractive, and feels comfortable and traditional.

For some reason it makes me think of Dolly Parton.

I think the font has a western feel to it ... not saying that's good/bad, just an observation ... what type of photography are you looking to do?

I like it. Well done.

If you are going to be printing this in rectangular format I'd see about getting some white space below to balance it out some.

I have no expertise to offer, but I like it Tammy. Oh, and good luck with your venture!

I agree that it has a western feel to it. It's nice and clean. I'm not so sure I agree with ambaker's suggestion of fitting it into the oval. I like the way it overlaps.

Tammy,

I agree with the others: it is a nice logo and if the the feeling it evokes (rustic western) fits your business, this is fine.

The issue I want to raise is whether you should have your phone number on the logo itself. If this were just for a sticker to put on your works, the phone number would be fine, but if it is on a web site or stationery, you will want to include more contact information than just a phone number. I think it is strange to have a phone number in a logo unless your business is something like a taxi company and you want people to memorize your phone number.

If you do include your phone number, I'd suggest adding the area code. We are moving rapidly towards an era in which the entire country is the local calling area and 10 digit numbers are standard.
