Hi

I just wanted to introduce myself before replying to any threads. I am Rob, a 31 year old with a hobby which is usually referred to as photography. I have been a member of anotehr forum for the past couple of years but after meeting one of your members by the Severn Bridge last year have found this one.

Welcome, Robbie. I got started back in 04 when several DPCers came knocking on the door, handing out their little DPC pamphlets and making these ridiculous claims that DPC is the road to salivation and enlightenment.

The pamphlet didn't impress me, but they put on a little demo in my living room, dripping water on the floor and shooting macros of it, releasing frogs and spiders in the house and photographing them on various pieces of furniture. I finally agreed to join just to get rid of them. Since then I have been known to drool over the latest and greatest photo gear and I have learned a lot! So, I guess they were right about the salivation and enlightenment thing after all.

I'm glad your introduction was less dramatic. Have fun, enjoy. :)
