I will do OLY 3, but for the next two weeks, i am literally stuck in about 5000 acres of corn that is being cut, so i only have a dial up, it took 15 mins to get to this page lol
It's not so much about winning as learning, and as you can tell, these last 8 weeks, I have learnt alot but my scores have dropped further and further downhill on a sledge in the icy snow!!
I am trying to type it all in one post so as not to have to wait 10 mins to reply again.
I am 5.1 still, but have 9 comments LOLOLOL |

We had a giant storm last night - 85mph sustained winds; 100mph gusts. Power was out at my place for several hours, making for a very hot night. Internet was down until just now - 6:30PM. So I wasn't online all day and come to DPC to find my Road submission at 5, my average dropped sorely and no comments added since I last logged on. Bah.
Juliet - what are you doing in a bunch of corn with dialup? Where are you?
I'm up for another round of Oly3 (I like that).

Hey you are beating me Red!!! =)
I heard about that storm, knocked trees and construction down, pretty hard core!@!!
I am in Idaho, my best friend is here helping with the harvest for his brother in law, he made the comment that he missed his dog, So me joking around said, 'Oh I will drive up with her to see you"
He thought I was seriuos and got all excited, and I didnt have the heart to say i was actually joking.
So 26 hours of driving at 90 miles an hour later, I am surronded by thousands of acres of corn. Got some great shots though, this monring there was a yellow by plane messing around the tops of the fields.
But going to have to travell to the Uni of Idaho to get an internet connection to upload photos.
SO thats my story. |

Not sure if everyone got the e-mail but...
I will NOT be doing dpc Olympics for a while. School starts in 2 days and I will probably be able to get in like 2 shots a month.

Make sure that EACH team member signs up AFTER roll over on Wednesday night. A captain posting with a whole team is not fair to others that live in your country and may want to play.
For those of you that DO want to play, I will create a thread called "DPCO-III Sign Up Roster", make sure that Wednesday night after rollover you find this thread and post that you would like to play along with the country you live in. Depending on how many people post from your country will determine if you have a team or not. If at the end of sign ups you don't have enough players to compete I will create a merger team. It is your option at that point if you still want to play.
this is from Dirt, we all have to sign up on Wednesday, I told him that Heini (if you dont mind) will sign me up as the dial up sometimes works.
So everyone scramble to the SIgn Up Roster on wednesday!!
Hows everyone doing on their scores this week, I know that H has kicked butt and taken names. |

I know it's still 30 min to the finish of DPC Oly 2, but I want to say thank you to all of my team members for a good run and Juliet for begin our captain as well as putting this together.
Even though I submitted 60+ entry, I have learned more in the last 8 than the previous 52. This is due to the great camaraderie and free flow of opinions and input from everybody. This is very valuable, since you all know the way DPCer's think better then wife's, significant others or buddies with cameras. It is also interesting to have submit an entry that you normally would not do, because it is out side of your comfort zone. And least but not least it is also fantastic to get to know other DPC' with their own unique style and opinion.
A couple of fun stats:
8 entries taking in four different countries.
The most spend on one entries was $30.00 for the Beverage challenge.
Learning that I need a macro lens (and other stuff) if I want to submit an "macro" style entry :)
That even though I may think about an entry a whole week, I still shoot most of them in the last 24H ;)
Kudos to Hein for being the front man when it comes to taking pictures while everybody else is still talking about it, as well as having the highest avg for the OLY2 of our team.
Best of all - out of 8 entries 5 where higher than my average plus one was even as well as a new second PB high score.
I can't wait to go for the next DPC OLY (3) and be honored to be on team Germany again. |

Woo Hoo - Go Go Go Hein - Front page. I see red...
We have a small chance to get enough points to bump the UK out of it's 6th point slot. Can't wait for final scoring results tomorrow. |

Hi evryone,
I was thrilled to be added and while I wasn't really sure how it worked...I just posted that I wanted to be on the German Team and then POOF when I peeked at the thread - I was added.
I am German too and can even attempt to speak it. I was there 2 times - each time for the summer to see family in and around Worms am Rhein.
Thanks for the welcome Juliet :) |

Are we keeping the "Team GERMANY's VIP Lounge" or will there be a new Beer Hall? October DPC OLY3 - October Fest :)
One interesting comment that was made by team "Poland" - the winners. It was that they all submitted entries for the hole 8 weeks (the only team that accomplished this). Taking the top five out of eight gave them better odds leaving out the three lowest scores every week.
I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, but just trying to figure out how we can improve our team standing, especially since there appears to be more competition in round III.

We need a new room - everyone else has DPO III in their title and let's do it, too!
Heini - are you captain? Or is it Juliet? Whoever it is - make us a room!! Please. :o)
Of course there may be one and I've just not seen it... |

Juliet,
the medals were posted already by Vlado.
Or do you mean a separate ceremony thread? |
|
|

Juliet, I posted the medals in a little ceremony.
As our leader, I think you should be the one creating the DPCO III thread, right? |

Hey Oliver? We need you! And while it would be awesome if everyone could enter every week, I don't think we banish anyone if they don't enter a few challenges - at least I hope not. I know I'll probably miss a few here and there.
And my Dolls shot is probably going to be on my top row - no idea why it's doing that well, but why couldn't it count for the Olympics, hmmm? Sigh - terrible timing... |

I think Juliet might be temporarily lost in the corn, Heini - so why don't you create the new thread?
Deb - congrats on your doll shot. Mine is totally tanking, so I'm glad it's NOT counting for the Olympics, though it's slaying my average. I'm currently not much of a crowd pleaser. My last three submissions are sub-par.
Are we starting with Shallow DOF and Immovable next week?
