I think you're exactly right. McCain has become a thoroughly cynical politician who will pander to any group to win. Do you remember back in 2000 when he called the religious right "agents of intolerance"? He's just as cynical when it comes to the concerns of women. But I'm sure he'll sucker a bunch of airheads with short memories into voting for him with this latest gimmick. And if he does happen to win the election, you will never see or hear from Sarah Palin again, and McCain will not give the religious right the time of day.

Only if you blindly listen to the liberal yap yaps. If you think it through and look at her record, you see it was a strong, strong choice. If McCain wins, I think we have a good chance at 16 more years of conservative wisdom. Good for America!

Apparently, experience isn't really a requirement. Clinton got in. He was said to be too young and inexperienced.

It seems that the experience card is being played way too much. The opposition obviously can't find anything else to bring Obama down with.

I think McCain could have chosen a table lamp as running mate, and this person would be all goosebumpy. Don't pretend his support of the idiots already in charge has anything to do with issues, experience, cynical politicking, good governance, or any of that. People like him are happy so long as the candidate can oomph out support for theocracy, denialism, bellicosity, and various and sundry other self-serving and deadly absurdities.

Um, your ignorance is showing. Thanks.

I love how when liberals do this... Jump on a person's faith as if they have any idea what they believe or what that entails and then express feigned shock when something falls outside of their NARROW view.

Funny. Very funny.

And the photo is funny too and on other sites many liberals have agreed. It's satire.

And I wonder what flavor of kool-aid YOU, my friend, are gulping... conservative wisdom??? heck 16 more years of this crack induced nightmare that your side calls wisdom, We wont have to worry about Russia and Iran... We are going to be begging to be rescued from the fascists by Jamaica and Canada because we will be in a worse condition than them.

I said this in another thread

One heartbeat away: Palin vs Putin. Scary

Palin will handle Putin just fine. And in fact, McCain's choice WAS Maverick any way you look at it. He's a moderate, nearly liberal Republican. It would NOT have been a maverick move had he pandered to the media and picked a liberal like Lieberman (Dem) or Ridge (Rep). That would have been what was expected.

No, he did the maverick thing and picked someone more unlike him.

For party unity. That's what the VP pick is supposed to do... shore up your base and make the tent bigger. He knew he didn't represent the full spectrum of Republicans and very few conservatives... So he wisely chose someone to strengthen his support. This is pretty normal for all candidates on both sides.

But because it's McCain, who you don't like already, you're biased.

I didn't like McCain before yesterday. I was anti-Obama. Now I really want them to win for America.

You're just listening to the media too much who are whining because they couldn't force McCain to pick someone they deemed worthy. Now they are worried and spinning it and you're buying it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I hated Clinton's administration, but I never once heard a claim he was inexperienced. He was not a Washington insider, but he was Governor for 8 years which *IS* executive experience and something Mrs. Palin brings to the GOP ticket.

Excellent pick!

As for Obama, you're not listening if you think his lack of experience is the ONLY concern.

Clinton led, Palin led, McCain led in the military. McCain has stuck his neck out on issues that offended his party (amnesty).

WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE?

Nothing! Not a thing. Rollcall only, no real record in the Senate or in Illinois. He's a face and slogan with NO MESSAGE WHATSOEVER.

Just CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE.

EGADS! What a loser he is. No substance. Empty suit. Moron. All those things you whine about Bush? Obama is more so. If Bush is "Dumb", Obama is "Dumber".

Everything we learn about him is bad. Everything. But people just go with him for CHANGE sake.

Obama wants change. But it's not to better America. Hiroshima got change. Wasn't good. Around 1936 Germany got change. Rome got change when it fell. Change can go in both directions. Obama wants to make things worse.

So far, he has been. Except for his Amnesty attempt. And his worry about what liberals think and not prosecuting the war more swiftly.

Let me correct you on one thing ... up until the race really got going ... I have said that I would rather have McCain than Clinton any day and I still had a good deal of respect for him. He was moderate and I can deal with that ... but his campaign has shown him to be a whacked out fear monger taking marching orders from Rove and that bunch... No we cant do 4 more years of this disastrous path that we are on...

On another note ... as far as media lets see ... I saw the report of the pick on Drudge looked her up on Wiki and then came to the conclusion that if Obama is a lightweight she is a featherweight ... as my wife said "Palin's got nothing"

Where did you get the document that says Rover gave McCain his marching orders? I'd like to see it. You think Obama picked Biden all by himself? Hardly. Obama is a puppet of the DNC and has nothing at all to offer.

Your wife is 100% wrong and hope you correct her. Palin blows Obama away ten-fold. He has no experience in anything except speeches and hate. Nothing. He didn't even have the political sense to leave Rev. Wrights hate-mongering "church" until he got called on it. Palin has led a state and overturned corruption. Obama has not even run a Taco Bell.

Hands down, Palin is the winner and a strong choice to shore up the base. Well done! McCain is getting something right.

It's written all over his voting record.

Yes, but only after careful consideration and vetting. McCain picked someone he only spoke to once. How likely was THAT a personal decision?

Hmm... gotta write that one down. "HawkeyeLonewolf (scribble, scribble) criticizing Obama (scribble) for failing to leave Christian Church (scribble, scribble) because it was preaching hate." Now I just need a mat and a nice frame. ;-)

By the way ... the other guy that was elected president from Illinois had a pretty thin resume also and he did okay.

I just wanted to post this for anyone who may be actually buying into some of the things being said by HawkeyeLonewolf. It's a long read, but we need to educate ourselves about our choices. I really like Obama. I don't watch the news all that much and any speeches I watch, I watch on CSPAN. I want to come to my own conclusions and not let some reporter try to sway me. What truly scares me is that there are people out there voting who will vote for McCain now simply because his VP pick can gut a fish and load a shot gun. There are people voting for Obama because of some other trivial things and what have you...it does go both ways.

I just want people to really look into what the candidates have to say and come to their own conclusions, and not vote for our future President having only listened to sounds bites or because so and so told them to.

ETA: Typos and clarify.

*****.

Didn't say anything of the sort. Wright's church is not Christian at all. If you had the intellect to read a bible you would know that.

*SIGH* As usual, you bring nothing of value to a conversation.
