Does anyone know if the Nikon D40x will take the 8GB SDHC memory card???
I was reading on this site that the D40X will only take up to the 4GB SDHC. Here is what the site says "Nikon D40x can use SD cards up to 2GB and SDHC up to 4GB" But that site was updated on Tuesday, March 6th 2007.
Has anyone tired to use the 8GB card yet???

| Nikon shows that the D40 is SDHC compatible, and the 8GB (and larger) card should work. I read the site that you linked and got out of it that you could use the 4GB card "for now" and that the larger capacity cards were coming. I think that the SDHC spec covers up to 32GB. |

If not you will only be out $21 and I am sure you can resell it for that.

okay well I made the jump last night and bought the 8GB SDHC extreme III card from eBay. I paid about 50 bucks for it so we'll see how it does. I ended up finding a site that some guy had made and was selling his D40x along with a 16GB card.
I can't see why I would want to go to a 16GB card. Man I would hate to lose that thing somewhere ya know.
I thought about getting 2 4GB cards but I have a wedding to shoot on the 13th and thought I might need the extra room. I wouldn't want to have to change the cards in the middle of the wedding ya know. Besides it's not like I'm going DWTERRY on them or anything.
Anyway thanks for the help everyone and I will let you know if the card is worth anything or it is what they say it is.
