I went to Joshua Tree a few days ago and we did not have much time to spend there but I have decided that I don't know the first thing about landscape photography and I don't know how to process the images in PS either.

What would be my best resource for learning landscape photography? I really want Bear Music to lead a hands-on photography class in all the locations that I want to visit but that won't be happening :-) so what would be a good resource?

I want to spend a full weekend in Joshua Tree and come back with some decent images. Thanks!

Check out Luminous Landscape -- lots of articles and tutorials there.

Try this thread Landscape Learning Thread or this one Landscape/Natrual Light Learning Thread

There is a lot of reading in both threads but if you follow them through and try the exercises that were done, you will learn a great deal about what to look for and what to do when taking landscape shots.

Actually, back in the day I did a LOT of photography at Joshua tree... but that was what, 35 years ago?

Anyhow, it looks as if I may be in the Bay Area (near San Jose) for 10 days or so in early-to-mid October, if that's a possible hookup?
