While voting over the past few weeks, but especially in the B&W Abstract challenge, it seems like there are an unusual number of images that are considerably smaller than the maximum allowed dimensions. Maybe we have a lot of new members (seems that way in the forums), so here are the limits:
Open challenges (anyone can enter): 640x640
Member challenges (if you've paid up): 720x720
When you enter a photo that's, say, 480x300, you're giving up an enormous amount of potential impact just because your image is so small.
Here's a tutorial on sizing correctly.

i agree that the larger images gives a better impression and viewing ease to the voters.
however there are some exceptions where a smaller image may help, like when your focus is off :p |

If you're gonna enter a poorly focused entry, go big! It's like seeing Mad Max: Thunderdome on a big screen. Shout to the world: I can't focus!

ok ok, maybe not to that extreme, but you know, with poor glass, etc etc... sometimes we just gotta use the resizing trick to get things looking sharp again (shame shame) |
