Let the games begin - I disagree!

Just because I can recognize what it is , does not mean it isn't abstract.

Let's say the subject is a green glass vase. Sticking in some flowers and taking a shot is a still life, not an abstract.

As long as it isn't about the vase, as such, but about an aspect of it that we don't normally and usually consider, it counts.

It needs to be about the form, the shape, the color, the degree of opacity, the way it reflects light or whatever else. Odd points of view, a macro shot or unusual angles might help, as would interesting ways in which it was lit up.

Listen to Beetle! It's a common misperception that abstracts need to be unrecognizable. That's just the lazy man's way of describing it when in fact it requires no such thing. It would be like me saying a still life must include a bowl of fruit. It may have that but it is by no means required. What Beetle said in her last sentence is the area in which you should be more focused on.

I anticipate my score to be 6.7352.

When I anticipate a 6, I get a 5. When I anticipate a 5, I get a 6.

Perhaps I should anticipate an 8 and see what happens. :) 7 or 9, don't matter. :)

So someone make a scores thread and let's get this nightmare under way.

I've given up anticipating. I had anticipated a nice score with my Purple entry, but wound up with a swift kick in the butt.

I like abstract images, I find it's best to remain open minded. It allows for a more enjoyable journey in the interpretation. Your mood ways heavily in that interpretation as well, at least it does in an ideal abstract image.

If you know what it is....then it is not abstract.

Pretty simple.

...apparently not what I entered in the challenge. Ha. Low scores abound. Awesome. I knew this entry would be a crapshoot because everybody thinks of this topic differently and it was last minute for me. Throw your dice and enter a photo! Woo!
