I love this shot, but it is too skinny, i can not seem to make it more square without distorting it. any ideas??

how about adding a border to the top and bottom of the image?

I think it's small, too dark and a tad grainy.

1. why is it so small? Did you crop it from something bigger?
2. Why is it in B&W
3. Use the despeckle feature in Ps to smooth it out some.
4. adjust the tones, exposure, and brightness.

Well, I like it the way it is--I like crops and aspect ratios that fit the image, rather than trying to make an image fit the other way 'round.

Violinist did correctly indicate, with his proposed crop, where the eye will go, however! Both for subject matter reasons, and because it is the brightest element of the composition :-)
