oops, sorry, slummy is slang for small change, coppers, you know, the nickle and dimes that just weigh you down.
Anyway, for the last 18 months or so I've been coming home and putting all my small change into a jar, then a small dish, then a larger dish and then a frigging big dish before emptying it into a big bag and starting again.
Pennies are tight for me right now and was faced with either bagging it all up myself and trying to carry it to the bank or nip to my local supermarket and pop it into the change machine. I opted for the easier of the 2 a guessed the fact the 'machine' took 7.9% as commission to be the easy way out.
OMG, the counting machine made almost £35:00 and when I took my receipt to the cashier she had to call her supervisor before she handed over £402.27.

Thankfully I caught all but 1 of the 28 £1 coins before they were counted - thats is just giving money away!

Nice one Andi, but a bit of a rip-off by the supermarkets. I have done it twice now with 1,2,5 etc we put into a big whiskey bottle and Asda got a nice slice..aaarrrgghhh, lol.
Now as you said, pennies maybe a bit tight, but I think you should treat yourself ;-) |
