Massive congrats and best wishes.

If it's like my D200, it's a case of wow, thanks for the spaceship, how do I fly this thing?

God bless her and all who sail fly in her.

Thanks guys! Here's the first official test shot with the new "baby". Come to find out, PSCS won't open the raw files.

When new cameras come out, you need to download the adobe raw converter plug-in.

Apparently I'd have to update to CS3. There is no update for just CS for the 40D. I searched a bunch of forums and it seems that's how adobe is forcing upgrades. LOL! That's ok, I'll just use the converter it came with, which is actually pretty nice. It's an extra step, but it's worth it.

Actually quiet_observation is 100% correct. From the adobe site you can d/l the lastest version of the adobe dng converter which will convert your raw file to adobe dng, which will then allow you to use it in PS CS. It is one extra step, which is a pain. The other alternative is to get Adobe Elements 6.0 which you can use for almost everything, it is almost as good as PS, then if you need something it does not have, take the TIFF file you converted to into CS.

I don't even care that I still suck, lol! I reached payout on fotolia yesterday (now I've gotten two payout's total from stocksites). It's the little things that make me happy. I like that they tell you what size & who bought from you. My husband thinks it's funny that I sell so many pictures of him doing construction work. The two that sold yesterday were 1)him carrying lumber on a construction site ($20) & 2)him framing in a closet on a new house ($10). He can't get over that people actually want to buy those types of pictures.

LOL I've sold the fried egg about 5x over...a wooden level, 1x...and a model vehicle, either a car or motorcycle, 1x. It'll be a while before I reach payout on fotolia!

BTW Kelli, do you think fotolia's indexing has improved at all? I've tried to search for pix I've uploaded there, but good luck finding them by the keyword search. I must have about 1 dozen different cookie jars on there, try finding just one of them! My sitename on fotolia is the same as it is here, snaffles.

I honestly have no idea. I've never had a problem doing searches for my own stuff. I just pick a keyword that I used. But, I don't buy images, so I really don't give their search terms a workout. I've sold the Philadelphia skyline 19 times. It's the second image on the top when you type "Philadelphia skyline" in the search terms. I've also sold my fireworks over the Ben Franklin Bridge 12 times, it comes up first in the list if you search using "fireworks bridge" in the search terms. My first payout with them was $56, and I only have 45 images for sale.

Edit to add, I found your cookie jars. Snaffles doesn't show up with the picture, your name does.

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but it is a link to the thread I started, to give someone deserving, a 'free DPC Gift membership'. There are now three available.

Free DPC Gift Membership available.

Do you know anyone to add to the list, for us to consider.

Happy birthday, Deb. 21?
08/21/2008 04:36:24 PM · #622
Yep, 21. Still. :-) Thanks! Spent the day in a meeting in Amberg, lovely little town in Germany, then took the train back here and broke my temporary crown, so shall try to get that fixed in the morning. Seems the permanent crown, by really strange rules and regulations of some kind, is ordered from the good ol' US of A and takes 6-8 weeks to get here. Not good when the temps are designed to last a few days....

And, just to join in on the Suckfest, here's my Mathematics score:
