Looking to replace my printer. I am after an A4 printer (possibly 6 tanks) to replace my aging canon S820. I only want it for photos - therefore am not after a multi function unit. I would like to get a model that you can get profiles for (my S820 was too old therefore didn't have any profiles). I've heard good things about some of the Epsons but some have said that if not used regularly tend to clog up. This could be an issue for me as the the printer is only hooked up for photos - therfore can be a while between sessions. Have heard some good things about the canon IP67ooD but really don't know what is out there at the moment. I'd also like something that takes the newer (longer lasting) inks. Although I've had some reasonable results with the s820 - the prints do fade.
Any suggestions ? Anyone bought a printer in the last few months ?
I don't waqnt to turn this into a canon verses epson war (or HP) but if anyone has researched or bought in the last 6 months I appreciate any feedback. |

I bought the EpsonStylus Photo R1900 last year. Whatta Joy!
BTW, In Popular Photography June 2008 (read it on line) they had a report on this printer, and I must say, I truely can not think buying anything else for my needs.

Ink cartridge prices are the only reason i didn't buy this printer.

| Peter - I read the review. Impressive. It's a A3 printer though isn't it ? It seems to be a more recent printer. Have they brought out a newer version of the A4 R800 ? It seems to me that all the companies have slowed down on the release of new printers. I think that even the R800 must be about 4 years old now. |

I'd look into the IP4300 from Canon. I have had one of these for the past couple of years and it does amazing prints. I recently added a Pro9500 but I still use the IP4300 for 4x6,which come out quick and look great. Also last great. Ink usage is pretty good and refill carts are less then $15 and readily available at most Wal-marts, Targets, OfficeMax, and places similar.
