My woody entry finished in the lower 1/3 average, but I got good comments during the challenge as well as one fav. This morning I received one post comment, that was well appreciated, but in the comment there was a statement made about an early comment. Well that commenter took I guess "offense" by the statement and offered a more detailed advise in a "second" comment.
I just posted "my opinion" comment to hopefully fall in line with all comments made, but I'm not sure about the situation, one that I never had in my last 50+ entries.
Any thoughts? |

I don't know that K10Guy "took offense" to something said that looks like it might have been edited out. In his follow up post, he just seemed genuinely helpful and regretted that he had not been more explanatory in his first comment. Overall it looks like you got some good feedback and the whole string of comments on you entry looks peaceful and all well-intended as is usually the case. Learn, be happy, move on. :) |

That K10Guy has seen that composition on other photography sites (I have too).
Your entry bombed because the refracted woodies were oof. you have to push the doll further back behind the grid in order to bring the refractions into focus. I'm not sure how big your grid is, but I'm guessing that if you push woody back far enough to get him in focus, he'll be too small to be clearly recognizable.
I think you need a finer grid and a super macro lens to properly execute this composition. |

Thank you for everybody's input. It is always welcome and as Art Roflmao says "Learn, be happy, move on" This challenge is long in the past. My current entry is doing good and who knows, you might see an out of focus "B&W abstract" grid entry. Just kidding... |
