ok I might have a dumb question here. I have noticed that there are alot of people that take pics of "woodies", this is to include full challenges about "woodies". Where can I get one of these woodies? I hve looked online but haven't turned anything up yet. Currently shopping is a bit of a challenge because I am in Iraq. They don't carry anything like that at the px. If someone could give me a web site or something to try out I would appreciate it....

Search using "wood artist mannequin" and you'll find lots. Some also are called "manikins," perhaps because someone thought the original spelling was too complex.

I find one every day I wake up. Of course with age this may change......

Matt

Edit to add some real content. I bought both of mine at Michaels, but they also sell them at many Art supply stores and HObby Lobby.

Of course it matters.. did someone tell you it didn't??

I personally purchased the 12 inch Woody.. I just felt anything bigger would be hard to work with....

Oh yeah.. Mine came in a box from Barnes and Noble.. they may not all come that way, but it was a very nice package.

Ha Ha she said she recieved a nice 12 inch woody package.

And another note, size isnt all that important if you dont know how to use it.

Nope just saying that all the size in the world isnt going to help you if you dont know what to do with it in the first place.

Just to show an example. I have a 14 inch woody and a 8 inch woody. I know its weird but hey :D

Anyway Art's woody is much smaller then mine, and he has many more, but he really knows how to use his. Look at the front page for an example. And mine just stares quietly at me wondering when I'm going to use it again. I keep asking my wife that as well and I cant get a good answer. :D

Um, this may be more information than you should: (1) know and (2) share.

I'm not the one with my woody on the front page. You should talk to Art about where he shows off his woody. And if I didnt know the size of my woody..........well that would be even weirder.
