That technology floors me.
Even can scroll down and look at the ground below (cool logo there too)
No seams, no stitches, amazing!
(saw on their website another virtual 360 degree, said it was shot with Canon 5D with a superwideangle circular fisheye. About 12 different computerprograms were used in final compilation and editing with an Intel MacBookPro)

I think that IS the photographer. :) The guy with the laptop is the only person around who is not holding a camera, so I'm guessing it's his gear taking the shot, and the laptop is controlling it.
I hate to think how much time goes into editing a shot like this.

Some more really nice 360 panoramas here
I actually found this shot looking for detail shots of the Ericsson Volvo Ocean 70 series race boat. They have a nice shot of the boat, and other great shots too. I don't know what the technical details are. |

I know it's a big event, but does it really take that many photg & millions of $ in lenses to get some snaps of what is a short race :-) Flame suit on :-)
Good to see a little something different, so that's cool.

Well that's even funnier! And the guy sitting next to them is looking at them thinking "what morons..."

I just realized...you can zoom too! Now I can see how many of photogs are shooting Nikon. (I did see a couple of D3s already)

The guy with the lap top may well be the photographer. However, he does have a couple of conventional cameras sitting next to him on the bench, and he has a couple of memory cards on his computer. He may have taken the 360 shot. I would say so, since his and what could be his partner are mugging for the camera. But it also looks like he is possibly downloading the cards to the hard drive.
Or could even be sending images out for submittal wirelessly, if he is on deadline.
