We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community.
Thats the quote right next to the photo. I wonder if they also teach Ethics?

And you know what's actually shown on the third picture?
"orlando and nancy (husband and wife) teach students at the english school in swakopmund, namibia, africa, a country which had just left behind the apartheid system. this american couple made for very interesting teachers... he's a black puerto rican who grew up in the bronx, new york and she's a euro-american who grew up in japan... their relationship taught as much as their words :-)" |

Why do you think its stolen as opposed to paid for. Its not unheard of that schools actually pay when using stock photos.

well it still has the watermark on it and its small. Usually when you buy stock photos, you dont get a watermarked image. |

That is pretty tacky, they should have contacted you directly...
But did you get permission to sell your photo of the teacher and kids in the classrom from the school? |

Oh, sorry - I read the thread title wrong - I thought they stole a photo from you.
It is extremely tacky of the school. You may want to let them know they are out of bounds on this - they probably arent' aware that they are doing something wrong. |

Good heavens, they could be completely legit on that image for under 25 cents!!! (an image that size costs one credit, 24 cents with a subscription to istockphoto)
Bet their web designer is some kid who downloaded a copy of dreamweaver using bittorrent. |

they could be completely legit with some soccer mom's photo on there.. ya know?
It just struck me as odd that they had photos that didnt belong to the school. I am not sure who does their web design, but I know that it is a new site this year, maybe they just wanted to get something on the site for start of school.
I will contact the webmaster tomorrow and offer my services, I will even do photos for free in exchange for model releases from the students and teachers. |

It's actually bigger than just one school. Check out this high school. It has the same small kiddies.

The web designer was probably hired by somebody in administration; that's who I'd contact.

actually
there is a drop down menu on top that lets you select schools
there are about 8 schools on there and all have the same web layout
i assume based on that, that they know about the layout, but still the image is stolen |

Looks like it is the standard www.sharpschool.com starter site.
Evidently they haven't put in their own pictures yet.
