My wife and son James are big Yankee fans. To celebrate summer and to have an opportunity to see Yankee Stadium in person before the open the new stadium next year, we went to a day game yesterday.
So....how was the day?
We saw A-Rod continue his horrible hitting in clutch situations - It was great!
We saw Jeter make some great plays in the field - gotta love Jete!
We were about 20 seats over from the only homerun hit - that was pretty close!
We saw Mariano come in and shut down the Royals down for 2 innings - Hall of Fame is just a matter of time
We watched a slap hitter just called up from the minors get three hits including the game winning RBI - it's more about heart the salary....
I was 'required' to wear Yankees garb by the Yankee fans in my family...I am sorry Ozzie and the South Siders!

Oh, and by the way  cfarrell... The Yanks beat the Royals 3-2 in 13 innings. |

| Glad you and your family got to go to the old stadium ... the only "classic" stadium I've been to is Fenway. Scary to think that next year Dodger Stadium (where I went last week) will be the third-oldest Major League park. |

I'm feeling a bit nauseous...
Although it looks like a beautiful time spent with the family. Nothing beats that, especially the Royals (boo hoo).
One thing that is certain, I didn't see any brooms in your pictures. Never say die...

The funny thing is...we bought the foam #1 finger in the top of the 8th inning...The Yanks roared back to tie it up and then eventually win. Then today, the Yanks won again. With the "magic foam finger" as my son calls it, we now predict the Yanks will soon pass the Red Sox on their way to the playoffs... |

| You guys rock. I so wanted to take my son to a Yankees game before they trashed the stadium but, unfortunately it wasn't able to happen. Wife says too much money to fly both of us out there for a game. DAMN you rock. |

| If the Yankees do in fact pull into first place, I'm going to sneak into your kids room, steal that foam finger and burn it! |
