uh oh. You should never try turning an electronic device on when wet, humid, or moisture is present. Let it dry for a week and put that silica stuff or anything else that absorbs moisture, and hope it isn't shorted out.

A trick my daughter has used for her cell phone (a few times)... with batteries out & doors open, put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in the car for a day. Not in direct sun, on the floor or seat... the heat will help evaporate the moisture.

Putting it in the car may help (hot but not too hot), but sealing it in a plastic bag may just cause any moisture to recondense in the bag and possibly drip back onto the device. |

Man! People who let their nice equipment fall into water should just have their equipment taken away. There out to be an exam... |

Mmmm, I think the check was for about $3500. ;) Of course I had only paid about $20 in premiums on the rider at that time so I came out on the "up" end eh? :) However, the rider was naturally cancelled by the insurance company and so I need to be careful these days... |

That's an excellent idea with the rice. Just make sure that it is dry, not boiled rice LOL. That would go well with Cindi's suggestion about the zip lock in the car for a day. Just put the rice in the bag with the item and leave it in the car for a day. That would work in Florida where it can get to about 140 F inside a closed car in the sun.

I soaked a cell phone for a challenge once. Then I didn't even get a shot I could use. :-<
When it was wet, anytime I put the battery in, it made wheezing noises. Really. I just removed the battery, shook out all the water I could, and left it alone for a week. It was fine once it dried.
If you're opening it up to expose it to the air, keep in mind that there are some serious, dangerous capacitors inside that you don't want to touch. Ever. Even if there's no batteries loaded. |

If it doesn't come back to life, just check with your home contents insurance company to see if it is covered for accidental damage. My insurance company covers my stuff, even when I've taken it out of the house, even if the item isn't specified on the policy. Worth a phone call at least. |

I use those little humidity packages that come in shoe boxes and various other things.....I have a whole large ziplock full of them.....when something gets moisture, i toss it in a large ziplock with a handful of those....similar to the rice idea. |

Also...the most important thing you can do if ANY electronic device is flooded with water is to immediately pull the battery....do not turn it off....as this is an electronic process....just pull the battery and let it set for a good amount of time, assuring ALL water/moisture has been completey removed. |

Litter pearls are the same thing that come in those little packets that are in shoes and such. Get a bag for like 9 bucks and you can make a kazillion bean bags that you can use in just such an emergency. Afterwards, just microwave for a minute or two and you will have recharged them for next time! |

If you use the silicone packages that come packaged with shoes, electronics, etc. You have to make sure that they are stored in an air tight bag or they will absorb the moisture from the air. You can in effect recharge them though, you just have to put them the oven on a low heat for a few minutes. |

It obviously doesnt. I'd say there is an issue with the sync circuit.

well it flashes bright enough to blind me for a few minutes. and it flashes when the shutter goes, so how would the sync be wrong? im confused... |

If you have it mounted on the camera or on a OCC and it fires when you push the shutter but isnt lighting up the photo, even in manual mode, then you are firing it, but not in sync. This is a function where it fires while the shutter is open. If you are using ETTL and not manual mode, try manual and see what happens, maybe the issue is with the ETTL then.
