Just kidding.

Maybe one of the Nikon experts will know what the problem is. It looks like some of the image data got scrambled somehow. Was the camera or memory card ever close to any strong magnetic fields? Did any of the other photos come out okay? Did you reformat the card and try again? Take the camera battery out and try again?

Your camera has the wrong date set. It's trying to let you know so you don't lose a challenge.

Seriously, like Mick said, it sure looks like you were near some serious high energy RF field. You give NC as your home location... you don't live near the Devil's Tramping grounds.... do you?

I have seen this a couple of times, I've had friends send me files to look at. One time it appeared to be RF interference and only happened one time. The others we pinned down to a failing CF card. If you know where the photo was taken try to duplicate it in the same area, if you cant then I'd look into a possible Card fault.

To answer a few questions...

I was in my home, taking photos of flowers, no energy, power, magnetics, etc, around. I do not live near the Devil's Tramping Ground, but that info is interesting and a cool find! I plan to research that, thanks :) p.s. I also live near no Sasquatch that I am aware of.

I took about 100 pics before and about 50 pics after, all turned out great.

The date is correct on all my images, except that "girly tv", even images taken after this anomaly.

I have never formatted my cards, they are SD, I do not have CF as someone referred to earlier... I guess thats something I need to do???

Did anyone notice this on the exif :

Contrast Curve - I

No, but you could try re-creating those settings and taking another photo and see what you get ...

When this happened I was working around a flower, taking shots from several angles... I clicked again right after my camera "acted" like it didn't take a photo. After the next photo I checked the lcd and saw the previous was the "girly tv". So, I continued to use those settings the rest of the shoot, it did not do it again.

I just don't know what to make of it.. I am almost saved up to get the D300 and the 2 lenses I want, and then sell this D50 and a few lenses with it on ebay... but I don't want to ruin it.. or make it any worse. *sigh*
