I just got this program it seems really cool, but frustrating as well. When using layers on a slide, is there a way of getting multiple shots on the layer were they are all in focus. It seems to render all photos but the selected photo oof, am I missing something here? Plus, the whole output thing is driving me a bit nuts with crappy output, if I don't use and executable file to automaticly launch on a PC the slideshow is blurry, even with all the high res options chosen. Should I output to a ISo file and then burn elsewhere or is this program cable of producing a good slideshow. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you output a DVD, then take the DVD over to your television and watch it there. You'll be amazed at how good it looks.

DVDs are low resolution (as compared to your standard resolutions you would normally use on your computer monitors). And so if you watch the DVD output on your computer, it's going to drive you insane because of how low resolution it is. But when you watch it on the TV it looks totally normal.

I think there are two reasons for this: 1) You sit a LOT closer to your computer monitor, and 2) you've become accustomed to the low resolution nature of the TV, so when you see low resolution images it looks just fine there, but on the computer you expect to see high resolution images and anything less just isn't acceptable.

I have taken it to DVd on TV and it's terrible, looks pixelated and oof. Any Ideas to what I'm doing wrong?

I was excited to find that elements had a program that would make a slide show that could be burned to DVD. You can fade in and out and add music and other good things.

I found the same as trev. On the monitor it looked terrible. I burned it to a DVD and played it on the TV and it was the same. I wish to do one for my mother but it's just so terrible I have abandoned the idea.

If someone know how to fix this in elements also I'd appreciated it also.

Sorry, didn't mean to highjack your post. Hope you don't mind. Maybe its the same fix for both programs.

A lot depends on the chosen output parameters.

I don't use either Proshow or Elements to produce DVD slideshows but have had similar issues with Adobe Premiere Elements.

It may take some experimenting with the output parameters to get the image quality you want.

So, you played the DVD on a standard television, and you sat back where you would normally sit to watch television (i.e. not up close like you do for a computer monitor) and it still looked bad?

If so, then I don't have any suggestions for you. The output I've seen on DVD looks fine when viewed just like you would a DVD. But when you try to view it on the computer (where you sit close and expect to see high resolution images) that's when the resolution falls apart and looks out of focus and blurry.

Yeah, TV is horrible. I've used both formats(wide and standard) and tried them on two tv's, one tube and one plasma, no luck. If I run the slide show from my computers without auto launch, they look the same way, bad. Now if I use the auto launch on my computer it works fine and slide show looks great(except the layer photos issue). I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I still haven't figured out how to get two photos on one layer where both are sharp, the program renders the deselected photo a bit oof, weird.
