I read today he's going to show up for the Packers training camp.
Man, that is going to one uncomfortable locker room.
Judi - US Football star quarterback that retired last year. Now he wants to un-retire but his old team doesn't really want him back but they also don't want him to play for anyone else. Sports soap opera. |

It could be argued that they don't want to GIVE his rights away...and I can't say that I blame them. If some other team wants him bad enough, they can make an offer.

You know God is dreading the day when Favre dies. Knowing Favre he'll want back into the world of the living and God will probably cave in too. After all who wants an INT throwing, ruining the Packers playoff season (again), drama queen? |

Was that the American football player who was in "Theres something about Mary"? The name rings a bell. |

You got it. I used to love that guy, now I think he's a selfish drama queen, shame. |

I hope he comes back, plays and gets hurt...bad. I don't know why this bothers me so much.

I can understand things might bother you... but surely you would not wish for this person to get hurt. I truly cannot believe that this man's escapades would bother you to that point.

That'd be "Favre", not "Farve". It's pronounced "Farve" though, gawd knows why...

No it's not. Not in this case. It's about an aging superstar who can't let go of his glory days, and it is sad to watch.

Lets see, how much will he get if he stays retired? How much if he reports?

He doesn't have that option. he can only "report" if they want him, and they don't seem to want him. But they don't want to trade him either. That part's all a mess. But he's got enough money to last him forever, and plenty of opportunities to make more post-football.
It's not about the money. It's an ego thing.

They should just trade him and get something for him. It's a win win. Packers get something for a retired player and Favre gets to add another year without a championship to his resume.

Enjoy watching someone who throws more pics than Pennington:) What I never got was how Brett got a free pass on the amount of pics that he threw each year. They call him a "gunslinger", I call it careless. Your Jets are a better Team with Farve but what drama queen he turned into. |

This is pissing me off in alot of different forums.
Armchair quarterbacks that last picked up a pigskin in 'real' competition in high school are deriding one of the greatest to ever play the game.
Who cares if he is aging? Do you realize how many yards he threw for last year? Do you realize how close they were to the Super Bowl?
He is still one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Prima Dona? I don't think so...or else he could have causes way more hell in Green Bay than he did this year.
I think that management tried to force him out.....he accepted at first, and then decided to just fight it. (*I understand the story, and that he supposedly almost came back and then backed out again...but we don't know why he backed out again..possibly the same pressure that forced him out in the first place?)
All in all...if YOU think you can do better than Favre. Try to walk on to an NFL team.
I would be suprised if any of you could throw for a first down, let alone 4k PLUS yards in a season. Instead...you focus on his age and his interception ranking (which is pretty bad).
Get over yourselves...the real problem I see..is most of you people don't want YOUR favorite team to face a Farve led offense.
I for one...would be willing to let my favoriate, GO DALLAS, not make the Super Bowl if it meant Fave could put all of you smack talkers in your place.

Yeah they were pretty close until that last Favre pass against the Giants in OT... Not that I'm complaining. :) To be fair though he was great against Seattle in the snow the week before but then again it was Seattle playing on the road, nuff said. That said the last couple of years he's numbers have been up.
