xian, they are lucky to have you as a photographer. Those 10 shots alone are worth the price (whatever it was).

Congrats on the new Job and good luck.

What is the best way to clean up sensor dust. I have some shots that I took and I used a smaller aperature and the wall behind the people is loaded with dust spots.

It's easy to clone out a few of them but the small aperature really accentuates the sensor dust and shows all of it.

Thanks.

Oh well, I tried to hang on until midnight, but my bidding finger got the better of me. So, I am stuck in this godforsaken place for another year!!

I thought I had it beat, I finally had a way out, but when push came to shove, I was reeled back in again.

Damn!! Another year as a member!!

Aw jeez, we're stuck with you for another year! Dang! ;-p

Well I'm in for Ducky II, I really like this one but then I like all of mine for the most part. So because I like it and I shot it in RAW and processed it as best as I could it will score low 4's like the rest. I see all of my friends here improving challenge after challenge and I am doing worse then when I started. What's up with that? Would someone please take a look at my fallen picture and tell me honestly why it did so bad. I really want to get better and thought I was but the last two challenge scores have me questioning why I'm still holding a camera and a membership.

Hey, I got a FocusPoint hat. Deb, I see you have one, too.

It's amazing how much I look like a raging studmuffin in my self-portrait just 'cause of the hat.

Nice hat, Jeffrey! My model won't wear hers for a picture, but she does wear it golfing. :-)

Welcome back, Steve! It's always nice to have a portfolio, I think. You can show off stuff that might not fly in a challenge, and it's just a good place to park pictures so they don't feel lonely on the hard drive.

A note that applies to all Team Suckers - when you do stick new stuff in your portfolio, let us know here so we can go take a look. I enjoy seeing how others see things.

Bob, best way to clean a sensor is to clean the sensor, not edit it all out afterwards. :-) I use the Copperhill method (do a Google on that) and really need to do it soon on mine - shot against a white wall the other day and mine is getting nasty again.

Rosemary, left you a comment.

I have an entire freakin' collection of Woody shots, none of which are any good. I'm thinking I may simply post the image numbers here and you guys can select which one you want. Not the actual pictures, of course - just the number as it came off the camera. A nice random selection processs.

7118; 7105; 7102; 7100; 7358; 7369

Those are what I've narrowed it down to for my Woody entry. They're the frame numbers from the camera. Any advice? Favorites? Any one you like better than the others?
08/12/2008 03:04:05 PM · #535
7369 is likely to have the highest appeal to the voting masses around here I think.
08/12/2008 03:27:44 PM · #536
That may be the one, Lea! It's weird, and it'll suck in voting. I think that's the right combo. :-)

I like 7100.

I think that's one you might actually like. :-)

By the way, are you planning to vote in Woody, Don? Not that I have a chance, mind you, but I may enter 7100 if you vote.

No, I would go with 7102, it has a far nicer ring to it...

Just realised I am on commenting duty for the Fallen challenge - which is good! But, I am not really feeling in the right frame of mind tonight - a bit tired and fractious - and I want to enjoy the photos and comment propely, so I am going to wait til I have more time. Hope you can all bear with me.

That's fine, Sara. Get a good night's sleep, start when you feel refreshed and ready. Look forward to it! :-)

Just finished shooting a quack err, quick last-minute entry for Ducky...and trying to get excited about the Math challenge, but I break out in hives just thinking of doing my taxes, so maybe I should avoid it.

Maybe our fearless leader should give us some ispirational ideas for mathematics.

That might help! I'm not in Occupation, have nothing for ducky or woody. And math? OY! I'm going to have some serious update button withdrawl.

Thanks too all who commented on my fallen photo, do understand the lighting and making it pop so will work on that. On another note I just got home from being a election judge I hope everyone went and voted today. I have the feeling that the November election is going to be a busy day.

Don, you're excused from voting. (The Woody challenge, not the Presidential election.) I didn't go with your choice - went with Lea's. Though it's almost as odd... :-)

Errr ... what election was today? You better believe I'll be there in November. I suspect the lines will be even longer than they were for the Democractic primary here.

On another note, congrats to alans_world for his on-fire 13th place Morning image! A new top-row image for him, his second-best placement ever, and he definitely had the TS high score in that challenge. :)
