Well, I'm in for woody (or maybe ducky) and try as I might I could do no more than convert from RAW, rotate 2dCCW,crop to the rotation and resize. It was all done in the preperation and if the camera was straight it would have been even simpler lol.
High hopes on this sneaking me into week 4.

Ok, well since I didn't enter my occupation, I will be in for ducky. :)
Thank you!!! |

I'm not eligible for member challenges, but I'll opt out anyway. I'm in with a woody. |

I am in Occupations for my week 3 entry. Don't think I'll make it to week 4 though: I am only at 0.1848 above my average and the vote scrubbers haven't done their weekly job yet...

First, kudos to everyone who has pushed themselves to do better. Second, Congrads to those who are advancing to the third round.
Again, Dennis, thanks for organizing this. It is pushing me to do even better. That is the positive. The negative is that I am pushing myself so much so that normally I would be leaving comments while in the voting stage but am finding I have little time or none to do so. |

Hope I made the right decision opting out of Your Occupation; that one is bouncing around between .002 under and .002 over my average! I've got something for Ducky entered, but have no clue how it will do. But I do like that shot better than the other, so even if I go down I'll go out with a shot I realized instead of one that I know I could have spent more time on and done better.
Thanks for all the thanks. This challenge has pushed me too to spend more time on my entries, and best of all to resist the urge to enter just to enter. Been a great ride, hope it lasts.
Finally, one housekeeping note -- congrats to DarkRider on making it through to round 3; I mistakenly left him off yesterday's list of survivors. Scoresheet and OP fixed. |

I'm ahead of my average right now and as long as the vote scrubber Gods are good to me I'll be in round three. (fingers and toes crossed).
MAX! |

I was well ahead of my average until the last day and a half ... then dropped to a full .1 under ... slowly on the rise again, but I don't know if it'll get back to where it needs to be ... I haven't shot ducky or woody yet and I'm not sure if want to ... |

I have shot Woody until Woody is now asking to have his contract renegotiated. And none - not a one - is truly DPC-worthy. But I have learned a lot! Actually, I already knew I sucked at "set up" shots, but I learned that without a doubt I TRULY suck at set up shots, which I guess is a good piece of knowledge to have, yes? At any rate, I'd never have gone to all this much trouble for a shot that'll score in the upper 4s, low 5s if it weren't for this side challenge.

Tell Mr. Wood there is no renegotiation:-) You are not alone with spending so much time to make an image work. I too just spend a good chuck of 3 days making one idea look the way I wanted. The other idea took me two days of shooting to perfect (or so I think). One is in the challenge the other hidden in the portfolio....it will be interesting to see what the DPC crowd makes of it and hopefully I made the right choice of the two. If not, bottom line I learned a heck of a lot.
Good Luck in the challenge Deb, ya never know what the audience is going to like or dislike. |

Thanks! In the end I've entered one that I like. And I am SO out of this tournament after tomorrow. :-) At least I made it to week three - I'm rather proud of that fact! |

This is actually kind of weird having an entry in the evening that should get me through to week three. The week 3 entry (occupation) is actually doing better (so far) than the one that might (or might not) let the week 3 matter. :)
Either way, I'm really enjoying this side challenge a lot! It's gotten me back into the creative mindset that made me pick up a camera again a couple of years ago. Thanks for all the hard work, and the original idea, EstimatedEyes! |
