Appearently in the local houston TX paper has posted the conflict between The Georgia State (Country next to russia , not the USA state) and Russia.
you will be surprised on how many uneducated fools out there are thinking its the State of Georgia (USA State) and Russia. Physically its impossible for those to to go to war lol...gawd..some people dont cease to surprise me...

| While I'm sure there were a few that thought it was Georgia, US, I got the impression most of those comments were tongue in cheek. |

What I found remarkably funny is the people that thought the tongue and cheek comments were serious....especially that one lady that posted about 10 comments in the thread... |

| Reminds me of 1982 when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands and the UK then went to war. There were plenty of British people, including some pretty highly educated ones, who were very confused as to why a South American country had invaded a small and economically insignificant group of islands of the Scottish coast... |

This is actually an interesting thing. The informed satirize, and raise the suspicion of the equally informed, who bemoan the ignorance of the informed, who call the informed ignorant for not understanding satire.

On a more serious note,
It amazes me that Serbia gets the living sh*t bombed out of it by NATO, because it doesn't want Yugoslavia to split up, but the republic of Georgia is supported because it wants to stop the split-up. What difference a few oil pipe-lines make eh?
But what makes me feel even more sick is that yet again people die because of basically nothing. :( Oil is nothing. Once you have traveled a lot and been part of many international multi-religous-families you feel that you really are all the same. 99% doesn't wants war, 99% doesn't want anyone to die. Sadly we would have to kill 1% to avoid all conflict, but the 99% has a heart and doesn't feel like killing the 1%. The 1% gladly take advantage of that. How sad!
A soldier/freedom fighter of any country, uniform or no uniform, has a mother and father, possibly a wife and children, who are blown away by the loss of their dear. Everytime someone dies in a conflict I think about that and I feel sad for both sides.
