I concur with rhipster. Manfrotto is the manufacturer, distributed by Bogen. Sometimes referred to as Bogen's.
I use a 484RC2 ball head, with quick detachable plates.
Around the world, there are some fabulous photographic equipment makers, and much of it is highly expensive. For my money, Manfrotto is hard to beat. It is reasonably priced and will last through years of abuse. Also, in the states, it is available at many professional camera stores. Consider their entire line. (No, I do not sell their product nor am I a stock holder. Just a satisfied user.)
With either tri's or mono's, the weight plus the leg lock mechanism, is what is important. I do not like twist leg locks. I prefer lever/tab locks. Fast, secure. However it is a pinch point, trust me. |
