Very good.
What's he like with 2 strobes ?
Would that be 2 bit's of string ?

And really this has nothing to do with small strobes or flashes. I know professional photographers who use this exact method in studio all the time. It makes it very quick and easy to put a strobe at the correct distance. Just hold the string up to the subject and pull the strobe back to where the string is tight and there you go.
So the only thing that is really noteworthy here ... is the idea that with a flash you can do the exact same thing by set the flash to "manual mode" (rather than eTTL or some other automatic mode).
