I laugh again...!!!! Be true to yourself...the mainstream media leans heavy left.

Here's something to read.

Ahhh Yes, the conservative catch all for "my candidate lost". When the neo-con loses, it must be the media bias that made the difference and nothing to do with the fact that they just lost.

spaz -- that is not just a conservative catch all. i've heard both sides whine about it for years.

kenskid -- interesting article. ironic though that there are mccain ads staring at me the whole time I am reading it.

eta: refreshing the page changed the ads, so it was just funny

That site scrolls its endorsement by Bill Frist (Senator, Medicare Fraudster, Kitty Killer. etc) across the header. Hardly a display of non-bias.

I laugh too, mostly at the paranoia of the left. especially when it comes to the media. Maybe if they didn't have their paws in all the cookie jars they aren't supposed to be dipping into, they wouldn't be so jumpy.

Karmat...

The fact that McCain ads are staring at you on the Rasmussen page is irrelavent (sp?). Those are paid ads. What people mean by media bias for example is....hmmmm... all major networks sending their anchor person to Europe with Obama. This coverage was worth millions in comparable air time.

People also seem to think that it is media bias when Rush, Savage, Hannity..etc...give favorable opinions on McCain and hit Obama hard. This is not the case. Those guys have their own shows and do not claim to be unbiased.

Yeaaaaa. That's why I used words like "ironic" and "funny."

I recognize that they are paid ads.

But, you posted a link to a "non-biased" site, and the first thing I saw was three McCain ads decorating the page.

ironic.
funny.

and both sides scream media-bias -- when it suits their purposes.

In your opinion, what looks like a complete joke? The process...the primaries...the "superdeligate thing"...etc...

It should be rather clear, but here are a few things I see that gives it the appearance a farce. (1) So-called "debates" - mere talking points where candidates never address in detail the topics given them and try to "win" with a one-liner. (2) The polarization of the issues - it is insane to think that there are only two sides to an issue and anyone taking middle ground is seen as weak on the issue. (3) The term flip-flop that "newscasters" and "reporters" are so apt to throw around - most people refer to a change of opinion as "learning". (3)The fact that supposed news outlets make up the issues instead of just reporting on them. (4) The fact that the campaigns actually started a year ago and have spent insane amounts of money.

And yes the fact that "TV ads are about the same as I've seen over my whole voting life" - ie. point out what you see is wrong with the other candidate instead of lucidly and with direct statement making their own positions known.

Maybe you should have been looking at different candidates. Ron Paul for one. All these candidates raise millions and spent even more millions. Hillary was $22 million in debt. Ron Paul, actually had millions left over. Oh, and when the media gave him a chance to talk - he didn't just give talking points.

;-)

Vote NObama and McNot!!!

Actually, it's pretty well documented that print and television media (with the exception of Fox and more recently Glenn Beck on CNN) are pretty biased to the liberal side. Of course, the fact that most of the employees of said organizations are registered Democrats is probably part of the effect.

On the flip side, talk radio is clearly biased toward the conservative side. These are pretty measurable facts.

Bias' often display themselves via the choice of words. (ie: articles that read Pro-Choice and anti-abortion groups) is a biased article. The article should either use actual terms pro-abortion/anti-abortion or the chosen names of each group Pro-Choice/Pro-Life. To mix them is a form of presenting bias. Commonly used in print media.

That said, we humans are biased beings. Everyone's got his or her opinions. And to deny that nature is simply the denial of reality. However, we are also rational beings and this can let us often reach a compromise between our bias and another's.

The talk radio thing doesn't count. They don't bill themselves as not bias...they are out front right wingers !

And...before you freak out any further, take a walk through the thread and see how calmly this fun debate was going before your latest post.

Oh no, I'm on Ken's list...

I'll be sure to watch for the black helicopters coming to take me away for my all expenses paid, one-way cruise to camp X-Ray for some water-boarding errm sports.

On a related subject, I once used photoshop on a document to convince my brother he was adopted from a Russian orphanage.

And Spaz, I don't have a list - I keep everything in memory where I lay awake at night going over the names again and again as I bite the heads off of matchsticks. >:-)

I donno about that... I got a certified copy of mine last year and it still had all that stuff. It doesn't LOOK like what I think a real birth certificate looks like, that's for sure...

The key word is "Certified". Interesting enough I don't see a "Certified Seal" on the Obama birth certificate. I find that odd!

I'm far from an expert but does it matter if he was born "out of the U.S."? If his parents were citizens (were they?) and they took a trip and he was born in Poland...isn't he still a US citizen?

I think the part of the Constitution that says "must be a natural born US citizen" means that he couldn't be like Governor Arnold and had to aquire citizenship here.

Wasn't there some discussion about McCain not being born in this country because his father was stationed outside the US?

McCain was born in the Panama Canal. EVEN if your parents are traveling in another country when you are born if THEY are US citizens, you are a citizen as well.
