This is not a political discussion. Just to summarize; there has been a theory (I don't beleive it) that Barak Obama was not born in Hawaii. Dailykos posted a full resolution certificate of live birth (colb) on their web site. The authenticity of the post has been questioned. You may find the photoshop techniques used to "uncover" the fraud interesting. //noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/08/03/breaking-techdude-finds-original-text-on-birth-certificate/ Any thoughts on the validity of the technique?
Somewhere on this site is the full resolution colb. //www.dailykos.com |

What technique? If I read it correctly, the 'technique' was direct comparison to a known authentic COLB. What is there to think about? How is that not valid?

No quarter seems to be dead this AM. If you find the URL of the original cert I'd love to look at it. I found nothing other than the usual nonsense at the KOS.
Why is it that Obama is getting so much scrutiny about his citizenship. I can't remember another candidate in my lifetime that was under such a microscope. Some of the crap I see circulating about him in the mass emailings that males share is darn right shameful. And I don't even like the guy. I don't like either of them! Another election with no one to vote for. sigh. |

Obama is not under ANY scrutiny from any media except talk show hosts such as Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage etc....
As a matter of fact, I'm sick of the easy ride he is having with CNN, ABC, CBS and mainly NBC.

For outsiders the US election looks like a complete joke. A real example for how it should be done in a real democracy. I would laugh out loud if it wasn't such a pathetic show.

Why so? Other than "less than stellar" candidates...
The TV ads are about the same as I've seen over my whole voting life...
...the media bias is the same as it's been over my whole voting life...
In your opinion, what looks like a complete joke? The process...the primaries...the "superdeligate thing"...etc...

It should be rather clear, but here are a few things I see that gives it the appearance a farce. (1) So-called "debates" - mere talking points where candidates never address in detail the topics given them and try to "win" with a one-liner. (2) The polarization of the issues - it is insane to think that there are only two sides to an issue and anyone taking middle ground is seen as weak on the issue. (3) The term flip-flop that "newscasters" and "reporters" are so apt to throw around - most people refer to a change of opinion as "learning". (3)The fact that supposed news outlets make up the issues instead of just reporting on them. (4) The fact that the campaigns actually started a year ago and have spent insane amounts of money.
And yes the fact that "TV ads are about the same as I've seen over my whole voting life" - ie. point out what you see is wrong with the other candidate instead of lucidly and with direct statement making their own positions known. |

#3. On the flip flop thing... I don't mind if someone changes their mind as a result of "changing times". When gas prices started to rise above $3.50 - $4.00 gallon, McCain changed his stance on drilling. Says we should drill if that would help prices come down.
Obama said NO to drilling, for a few months after McCain said "drill". Obama's base wants NO drilling so he kept on message about not drilling. However, now the polls are hugely in favor of drilling and now Obama says he "may" be open to drilling. IMO when you change your stance over a poll, then that is a flip/flop and if that is what reporters are calling it, then they got it right.
On your "second" #3...You are EXACTLY RIGHT on the mainstream media makeing the story instead of reporting it.
On #4...there are some "safe guards" on the spending amounts. However, this requires the candidate to "take matching funds". This limits the amount that can be spent "on their own". One candidate opted out of the matching funds this time around.
Even if candidates have spending limits...groups like Move On and Swift Boats can spend any amount..(I think!)

Hmmmm, appears this has become a political discussion. In any event I found a couple of URLs for those interested in the initial premise of this thread.
First a fairly big copy of the So-called Obama cert.
Obama cert
Second a sample from someone born in 1961 that was posted to their blog:
1961 cert
I was looking at my BC and there was a lot of info included on a 1955 cert. A bunch. Obama's has almost none, unless it's page one of several. If you look at the sample from the personal blog it looks like a real BC. The one purported to be Obama's sure doesn't have much info....
EDIT:
Maybe when you get a modern print of your cert, they leave out a lot of the info for privacy concerns????

I donno about that... I got a certified copy of mine last year and it still had all that stuff. It doesn't LOOK like what I think a real birth certificate looks like, that's for sure...

If you really want to knock yourself out on this subject check out this URL.
Obama geneology
I have no idea if this stuff is real. There is some interesting info, especially the bottom of the HUGE document. |

there are 2 versions of BC's. A long form and a short form. Looks like the one of Obama's is a "short form" which doesnt inlude a lot of information on the long form. The short form is primarily used when less information will suffice.
I couldnt open the 2nd link ( so I dont know which form it is)
MY original BC from 1978 is much different looking from the new one I obtained in 2005. |

That link is probably blocked at some worksites due to the name. |

I don't think the ride is over yet.
And in these modern times the power of the MSM is only a pale sample of it's past glory. Blogs and circulated emails may actually be of more power. |

An interesting analysis:
Hacker Factor
I'm done on this. Looks real to me. And as the Hacker Factor indicated, if he wasn't qualified Dems and Repubs would have burned him at the stake when he tried to become senator. A non-issue, I suspect. LOL |

And I came across a fact-checking website that purports to have the registrar in Hawaii "explaining" the COB and verifying that it's valid, so I guess I was wrong on that one. But anyway I never for a minute thought Obama's people were scamming us, it just looked "funny" to me.

Ahhh Yes, the conservative catch all for "my candidate lost". When the neo-con loses, it must be the media bias that made the difference and nothing to do with the fact that they just lost. |

Hopefully, since we're a republic, not a democracy, the figures are a little better than that Waz. Like maybe 55 to 45. LOL It all looks bad when you're the 45 percent having your money stolen. |
