Im not sure if this is covered somewhere else, if it is, I cant seem to find it. Im trying to make a read along dvd for my children while Im away. I took clear, focused photos of 5 Dr Seuss books (one photo of every two pages opened up) and then put them into Adobe Premiere 3.0 inorder to string them together and make them into a video which I narrated. My problem is that once the photos go into the film strip, they become blurred, so much so that you cant read the words, or truly see any of the illustrations. I used the highest pixel setting I could with my camera (Nikon D70S). Can anyone help me with this problem?

Try watching the video on your TV instead of on your camera. No seriously. :-)

The trouble is, your computer has a much higher resolution than your TV does. For example, you may be running your computer's monitor at 1024x768 ... possibly even higher! But the video on your TV is only about 1/4 of that. TV resolution is closer to about 640x480 (it's actually something like 525 lines).

Anyway, my point is two-fold:
1) If you watch the DVD on your computer, your brain will expect to see the computer style resolution you are used to seeing, but if you watch it on a TV you'll expect less and it will look normal there (plus, you sit a lot closer to a computer than you do to a TV!).

2) In times past, I have felt that I have gotten the best images by downsizing first and doing my standard down-size-sharpening on those images before importing them into the video.

Diddo on dwterry. When I use ProShow Gold to make a slideshow, burn it to a DVD and play it on my computer, even the most crisp images are fuzzy let alone any writing. However, if I play it on my TV, it looks great. Worth trying anyway. Good luck! BTW, I think it's very sweet of you to go to that effort to make something cool for your kids.

Geez... someday my fingers will learn to type what I'm thinking for me.

"Daddy, your photo's are way out of focus, and your depth of feild is too shallow!.. you need to use a higher apature and set your ISO to 800"
