So does this mean I am stuck with this shot? or do I still have till Tuesday to do an open entry and pick it as my Side challenge entry?

You have 7 minutes to decide! That one will count for you unless you tell me before voting starts. Ooops, did I say 7 minutes? Looks like 6. :>P I mean 5.

Sorry for the confusion Dennis, the last hour was a bbblllluuurrr! FYI edited my last post to take Fallen with 4 minutes and 28 seconds to spare! CRAPTASTIC!!!
Thx Scott

so, if we're in FALLEN now, and our score tanks in the next couple days, can we change to be in the MORNING/EVENING challenge????!?!

:)

Just finished pulling the averages for week 2 -- most of those who used cardboard box made it through to the second week, many with scores well above their averages. Great work everyone. Special congrats to Dr_Toto for his first ribbon, with a 7.5477, well above his average of 5.7203 at the beginning of last week.

I'll update the OP soon as I get a chance with all the survivors. Good luck to everyone else trying to stay alive for this week, and shooting for next week.

Actually I find that quite bizarre.

Dr_Toto beat his average by 1.8274
Judi beat her average by 1.8794

That is a rare occurence in the same challenge!!

Can we add a rule that says if you surpass your average by 1.8 or higher you're disqualified for rubbing it in. Who's with me?

They just put themselves in big trouble. Those pictures will decorate their first pages for decades , if not centuries. I rather beat my PB little by little so they would rotate at least every other year LOL

Did I just trip over your bar? You really shouldn't be leaving it so close to the ground like that. Someone could get hurt.
08/04/2008 03:49:33 AM · #463
Heh! My bar is subsurface... you won't even notice it. I'm just trying to get back to the 5.3 range.. Here's hoping I have one of those scores that slowly rises during the week, or I'm out.

More like the opposite. Like your entries it's so high it goes over people's heads. I just made a funny!!!

LOL! In an odd and very convoluted way, you just made my day. I think.

Bad run of the fours happening to me..........

I'm out
08/04/2008 05:34:47 AM · #468
Was so tired last night I fell asleep without declaring my entry.. so I guess I have to go with FALLEN.
I'm not complaining as it is still above my average, I just wanted to DECLARE my entry.
08/04/2008 06:16:56 AM · #469
Well, since my Lawn entry took me above my average, by almost 0.4, I entered Fallen. My shot is very simple, very straightforward... Considering this one is Advanced Editing, I don't think it'll fare too well but I knew I would not have time to shoot something for morning or evening. Plus, the weather really sucks here these days: rain, rain, rain and then some more!!

Question: since my average goes up everytime someone votes and my fallen entry has gotten some pretty unexpected high votes last night, how can we figure out what's the average I have to beat this week? Lawn is not even finished voting...
08/04/2008 07:25:00 AM · #470
So I have two questions for rulings.....

Do I have to pick one of the three challenges before rollover?

I couldn'tr 'cause lightning knocked out my phone line Saturday afternoon.

I was planning on doing Morning/Evening anyway......IIRC, it's the first entry, so I shouldn't have to specifiy as long as I enter one of the three and I'm okay with my first entry, right?

Secondly.....I am going on vacation Friday, anmd I don't know if I'll be able to get to a computer with a processing program whilst gone.

Can I get a bye for week three?

I may not need to, 'cause I will be back the following week with a couple days to shoot, I think, but I was just wondering......

Congrats on the Blue Judi! It is a wonderful image.

AND I must say that I was VERY relieved that we were NOT operating on the same wavelength. For some reason I gut-jumped with the thought that we might have come up with the same idea, but roll-over proved that was not true:-)

Dennis, this is just cruel....

Note: I've pulled your averages for week 2, and will post them here after all the week 1 results are in.

I'm in the FS and rollover isn't until Friday morning, and only then will you tell us our average that you took? In fact its probably worse for those in cardboard box AND fallen.

Is there a list that shows who made it through to the second round?

Thank you Judi - I am very happy with how the image and concept came out.

I went looking through the results of the Cardboard Box Challenge and there are quite a few that pushed through to a 6 score or better.

I am not sure that they all choose Cardboard Box as their Tourney entry but nonetheless congrads are in order for those who did better than their average with breaking a 6 for the final score. Congrads to Dr_Toto, sempermarine, Bogi, bubeltrubel, liberty, Trumpeteer4, Brat, Ivory, signal2noise, and colorcarnival
