I think I'm going to have to skip this week because I have NO ideas and I'm still in Florida.

Landlocked or near the water? Shoot a sunrise or sunset. For morning, can you get to a golf course? Get a group teeing off. Golfers love morning. For evening, can you get to somewhere where they dine outdoors? Evening light and outdoor dining might be good.

As for me, we had overcast weather this morning (makes it hard to get morning light) and it's supposed to thunderboom this evening. Hmmm. Not sure what it'll be like tomorrow morning, and we all know I suck at setup shots, but were I to do a setup shot (which may be my only option), are there any suggestions?

A beautifully laid out breakfast table or single serving table? With all that expensive fine bone china you surely have clattering around in your house? Breakfast as served in your local gasthof?

My "fine china" is paper-based. :-) I have one set of dishes. They're Christmas dishes from Costco. I thought they were cute! I use them year round when I don't use the paper stuff.

I do have a wide assortment of coffee cups, though. And you know, I suspect if I were to shoot a coffee cup, I'd be the only one to do that for the challenge! :-) I'll see what I can come up with. Evening is a bust - overcast and very dark and gray at the moment.

Hi guys, I'm back home.
Sorry I did not reply to any e-mails.
We spent all day at the beach (no flies there :) ) and then I rarely checked in to see the score for the lawn pic. Still holding on to 6.5+

BTW: I came back with my submission for evening.
Later today, Once I have all straightened out and caught up on e-mail, I sent it to you for comments.
C ya later

I suddenly have a dreaded gut feeling that you can not use photo filter from CS3 in basic. I hope I am wrong, cos if I am not I am looking at a DQ this week
08/03/2008 03:36:09 PM · #318
as long as you use them on the entire photo you're fine. No selections though.

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. They are great and very well done.
Reminds me of one of the little villages I grew up around. They still had their walls and gobble stone streets. This is south-east of Wuerzburg in the Main-trianlge.

I take requests, Heini - just let me know where you'd like me to go take pictures, and if it's within a reasonable amount of time from where I am now, I'll get there!
08/04/2008 03:31:47 AM · #323
D, still like the original one best, thanks guys for all your help with my 4 photos that have been back and forth like no ones biz.

I got asked for validation on the lawn one, and i have to say I am still worried about the photo filter thing, even though H says it will be ok. SO just in case it does get a DQ

how many are in for this weeks challenge?

Heini

The original it is. I'll be surprised if it scores any better than a 5.3 or so, but we'll see. Thanks for the feedback!!

OK, guys, who DO we have in this week's challenge? I've seen Heini's and Juliet's and both will do quite well. Mine really, really sucks. And not in a good way. I tried for Evening this evening but I don't think I have anything useful at all. I can't shoot in the morning tomorrow (darn work!) but I could try again for Evening....
Grrr....
