| I have a shot on here and it is really really dark, but when saved in PS it is markedly lighter. Is anyone else noticing this??? |

oh thank goodness for that, I thought there was something wrong with me. well, actually we all know there is but shhh.
it is weird, it is not just a shade darker, it is like about 2-5 stops darker. In fact i am surprised i can actually see my shot LOL |

Mine does that too. I also have to oversharpen to get it to look crisp on dpc.

It may be your browser as well. Firefox 3 will load your color profile so that the image displays properly.
From email distribution:
Firefox ® 3 Offers Color Management
The only recent web browser to support color management, and use your custom display profile to display images, has been Safari. Safari is the most common browser on the Mac, but not at all common under Windows, so most Windows users have not had the opportunity to see managed color in browser windows.
Firefox ® v3 offers managed browser color to a wider audience, and supports both Mac and Windows. Firefox 3 is now in public beta, to download a copy go to: //www.mozilla.com
To turn on color management under Firefox 3 enter the following text in the address bar: about:config
Next enter the following into the filter line: color_management
Change gfx.color_management.enabled to: true
Restart Firefox to activate this change and enjoy your color managed web browsing! |

Just recently I posted a thread about this. I fixed it on my browser and it makes a HUGE difference.

yeaah!!! monitor profile support in firefox!!!
Thanks for the post. I had not noticed that the latest release of firefox does this correctly. I'd been using safari, but a little reluctantly, as it has no greasemonkey support. |

Did you convert to sRGB color space in PS before saving as a jpeg?
Non color managed browsers will assume you images is sRGB regardless of the embedded color profile, so it safest to convert to that profile before saving. CS3 can do this as you "Save for web", if you tell it to, but previous versions did NOT automatically make this conversion.
