What freaks me out is, an ANKLE holster? How does one accidentally fire a gun in an ankle holster?

I've seen and used the gun involved Bear. It probably was a weapon malfunction as it doesn't have a modern firing pin safety. Also if a .25 is all he has against a threat, I hope he doesn't shoot them A .25 might make them mad! Maybe he was carrying the .22 version. Now that could kill someone. |

Actually a .22 is very deadly but not in the typical way one may think. A .22 round is small enough that fragments and some times the round itself can travel the blood stream unlike larger caliber bullets. Many people has died from a .22 because of this. I'm sure it was his backup, most likely he had an police issue weapon on his side or at least he should have. If he did I bet he's glad that didn't go off. |

Last year I shot myself in the shoulder with a 3 1/4" coil nail!!!
if you look close on the side of the nail you can see the wire barbs from the coil. |

Having worked construction, I can tell you that a great number of people take the safety off, and rig their equipment so that it will fire when the trigger is pulled, without the need to depress the head of the nailer. I remember this fella falling off of a ladder who managed to shoot himself several times with the nailer on his way down to the ground... not a pretty sight.

The nail gun fell off the top of a wall and when I caught it my thumb hit the trigger and the nose safety hit my shoulder. I felt no pain there was no blood. Took the next day off work and ended up going to play 9 holes of golf. : )
I was soooo lucky. The nail hit only muscle. Just missed the bone, nerves, and an artery. I was in emerg for about 30mins and the nail was out. It took another hour for them to say I could go. |

I have seen a few that where fairly bad too. But never with modified guns. Most of the air guns will repeat fire if both the safety and trigger are held down. |

you were lucky. That stuff actually happens alot more than people think. Because the nail (projectile object) goes in so fast, its almost painless, and you dont realize it until you start hurting later from either infection setting in..etc... |
