Next week I'm gonna do my first weddingshoot. I arranged to shoot only the location shoot, not the official activities.
Now I have some questions:
- The bride asked me to join them for the lunch. What's the usual thing you do?
- Is it usual to give a little present for the bride and groom when arriving?

Go for it, but I would stay away from alcohol!

Not usual unless if they are close friend or relative. But I might be wrong; I never buy to anyone something if they are my clients. |

Staying for lunch I guess depends on how long you'll be there for. We quite often get asked if we'd like to stay and eat but it depends on the job we're doing. If we're there for the whole reception then for sure we'll take them up on their offer but if we're not then usually we'll politely decline.
It's really up to you if you'd like to offer a gift but generally no. We sometimes offer them a print as a gift when they collect their proofs though. This usually is an 8" x 10" of our choice. They don't expect it and I think it adds a nice touch and costs us next to nothing.
Hope this helps and best of luck with the shoot! :) |

I don't drink much, especially not at work and when I still have to drive for an hour ;)
Thanks!

Hey... just to make sure :)
People say things and promise things when they are under influence... and clients usually take advantage of these stupid promises a lot.

No.
If you shooting for free then your gift is your services or you're being paid, well, then you're hired help. Around here it's common to be fed at the dinner.
