I'm trying to make a slide show of 201 photos I have in a Quick Collection in Lightroom 2 (beta version). Each time I try to export the photos to the slideshow, the pdf creation hangs at 52 kb. Lightroom continues to function, but the export status bar stays stuck at the same status, and never stops, even if I click "cancel."
My searches on google haven't helped :-( I've never created a slide show in any version of Lightroom, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but this seems like a bug to me. I've deleted the preference file as well (running Mac here).
Does anyone have ideas for a fix or link to more information? I'm going crazy trying to do this! |

I tried lightroom beta 2.0 and it sucked bigtime. I have 1.4 and that works well.. there is a trial version of 1.4 please try that.

Okay, I guess I need to go back to the version 1.something that I have (own). I was thinking about upgrading to the new LR 2, but if I can't make slide shows, I don't want to do it.
Still hope someone has a solution, even though I'm glad to hear you say that it sucked ... makes me not feel quite so dumb. |

The release version of LR2 is a massive improvement over that early beta released at the start of the year.. I can remember when I was testing the original LR beta and I thought what a load of crap, then the release version was amazing.. LR2, whilst a wee bit slower than LR is far superior is so many ways.. |

Okay, okay :-)
I will buy the real version of Lightroom 2.0, especially after watching a couple of videos describing the improvements. I thought I could wait until the end of August when my beta version expires.
My workaround for this particular issue was to follow MAK's advice and use version 1 for the slide show. That turned out to be basically just a pdf anyway (but at least it didn't crash) ... not sure I really understand Lightroom slideshows in general.
