So I emailed canon saying that I was not happy that nikon was about to release it's D700 and Canon had nothing to compete with it. I also said that I would switch to nikon if nothing else came soon... here was the response I got...
"Thank you for your interest in our cameras. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We are not releasing details about the release of the 5D mark II yet. Please keep in mind that Canon is continuously reviewing its product lineup. We recommend you continue checking our website (www.canoneos.com) for new product announcements in the U.S. market in the near future. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Thank you for choosing Canon."

Sorry to burst your bubble (well, sorta) Nikon says the same thing the their costumers. Key phrases used, "I do not have that info or details at this time", AND "We recommend you continue checking our press room/website for future announcements"
Any ways, who cares if they have a D700, you have a good camera now in your hands. Go out and take some photos, and if it bothers you that much. I would gladly welcome to the "Dark Side" . |
