Thanks so much, Lea!
Peter commented that it probably would have gotten......well, not all that well received.
Funny, I love it so much that I never submitted it 'cause I would have gotten offended had I been slapped around, so.....I have to agree with him! LOL!!!
It's funny, but I have a 28"x35" hanging on my wall, I've sold a coupe copies, and I gave a copy to the people that live in the house as well as won 1st place in my local camera club's photo contest.
It's actually one of those rare images that manages to look better the bigger it is.
It looked great in its 16x20 with a 1" while border at the township park fair.
I *love* my picture! LOL!!!

Hi Max
Sure, I do group sessions too! And I better dig out the map and see where exactly Orillia is located!
The shoot I did on Monday went OK but sadly, model didn't seem happy with her shots. Oh well, did the best I could. |

Which IMNSHO is my best image EVER, garnered a first in (Photographer's Choice-roughly the equivalent of a Free Study) class and grand overall winner in the South Middleton Township Parks & Recreation's annual photo contest....
Which got me $100 for the class, and $200 for overall winner.
I am THRILLED!!!! |
Big Congrats!!!
This photo is awesome, I bet it does look great printed large. Have you tried printing it on canvas? |

I have a shot in for the lawn challenge and I think it might do OK so I hope I'm on a team before it's finished in the voting :)
I checked out the Golden Brigade team and some of them haven't been active in months, do you disband teams and distribute the ones who participate to other teams or do you try to prop up teams and move others out??
NOT TRYING TO STIR UP ANYTHING just trying to get a feel for how things go on the team.
We could hold a draw and the teams that are interested in my participation as a team member could go into a lottery and I could be the prize (BIG GRIN :)~)
What a catch.... rethinks the whole prize thing and a number of things come to mind, booby prize, raspberry award....etc, and decides to be content with what ever team wants me most, or where ever I'm put, or something like that.

Ever so slowly I've been looking at the pics from the charity bike ride I worked on (500-miles, one-week). I thought I'd post the first one that I actually uploaded here. Not much in the way of PP done on this one, but suggestions, comments are most welcome.
Thank you. |

Well, ladies and gents, I am off to meet my first ever DPC member.
Our very own Quigley !!
Enjoy your days, as we meander around a local park looking for unsuspecting wild life and such to shoot.

Just playing around with it and came up with a 5-second makeover:
neat image and crop, levels to bring out a bit of detail in the trees

Congrats, Jeb!! Real life successes are far, far sweeter than dpc ribbons. (Though those in the Posthumous Ribbons thread are pretty sweet.)
At work, they put very large pictures on the wall to show people who work with our organization - imagine my surprise when I looked and several of those are mine! (I put pictures on the shared hard drive at work for public consumption.) Granted, I don't get paid for those, but hey, it's still pretty cool.
Oh, and Max? The teams here are fairly loose configurations. If a team member hasn't participated for quite awhile, I believe they become members of Team Zombie. :-) The team honors are voting on OObies and Yappies.

Maybe you should start a new team within the Suck League. All you need to do is recruit two other warm bodies or warm cameras or three warm bodies with warm cameras. |

I recently connected with BrianR via comments & PMs and speaking for myself, I would love an active team member to the Golden Brigade |

Boo Hoo !!
3 hours out shooting, and over-exposed every last photo. I am SO incredibly disappointed.
Not that many are in focus (using manual focus lenses for the first time EVER), but a few are, and the detail is completely blown out.
My blonde is showing through I'm afraid. I'd had the camera out the other evening, and set it to +1.7 exposure compensation, and forgot to reset it to neutral. Not being used to the display of the D60 yet, I didn't notice it was still set like that.
*le sigh*
At least it was a highly enjoyable morning - you could not ask for a couple nicer guys to go shooting with than Max (Quigley) and Scott (DarkRider).

No sweat, Lea. Always disappointing with duff pics, but you've done some learning and that's not all bad. |

Oh, believe me - no regrets at all. I'm working on salvaging some pics right now, and I'll post them later tonight.

Left a couple of comments :-)
I'm in for Cardboard Box, but I had a tough time getting inspired to shoot for this week's challenges. Hope Langdon has something more exciting lined up for this week! |
