Have been reading up on this lately and was curious to know the following.

Do you use a White or 18% Gray to do your custom white balance?

Either one works ... as long as they are neutral.

The advantage to the 18% Gray Card is that you can also use it to set your exposure, whereas the white card does not help you with exposure.

Digital Capture Targets are my current preference for setting both white balance and exposure at the same time.
