Even animals in my back yard give me no respect!
I was editing some pics that I took earlier this month and I though that some of you might get a giggle out of this one. Deer like to hang around our property. We don't have dogs and they like to eat my wife's flowers. Many are born and grow up here and never seem to leave. Youâve heard the idiom âfamiliarity breeds contempt.â Well, I think this one is getting a bit too familiar. :)

He punked you out! You need to tell him how good he would taste in a pot of chilly, that will wipe that smile off his face:) Funny shot, they are amazing creatures. I see he is in velvet, blows my mind that they shed their antlers every year to regrow them again. |

I think you are perfectly set for a fantastic closeup shot in the next wildlife challenge. |

LOL, I LOVE it when animals stick out their tongues and it's captured by a camera. It just seems to give them more personality. Thanks for sharing!! |

A funny story:
Our driveway is about 550 feet long. It goes downhill from the street, and then uphill to our house. My wife uses it as her jogging track. One day I was watching her jog back towards the house when two little fawns came running up behind her. They had been in the woods with their mother at the side of the driveway. When they saw Becky run by, they decided to show her how to run faster. As they run up behind her, she turned her head to see what the sound was, then screamed and started running as fast as she could go. The two fawns zipped right past her and ran all the way up the hill to where I was standing. They almost ran into me. They looked up at me (I swear they were laughing), then bounced back to their mom. When Becky got to me she asked if I saw what happened, but I couldnât answer her because I was laughing so hard. Now, whenever she goes out jogging I ask her if she wants me to stand guard and watch for vicious baby deer.
Iâm not positive, but I think the young buck in the photo was one of the two that âchased her downâ that day.

A Deer Story,
My dad has been retired for a couple years now. He delivers our local news paper for something to do and help keep active. One night he was just motoring along house to house. He stepped off one porch and cut across the lawn. A HUGE BUCK that was eating the neighbors bush threw its head up and stared EYE to EYE with him. Both of them where frozen in there place. (Dad said it seemed like forever) Then they both ran (opposite directions). My dad tells me this story like. I was so scared...out of nowhere...it was just there...huge...scared the crap out of me...I didn't know what to do...so I ran.
I reply imagine what the deer told his family...I was just eat at that bush I like...minding my own business...and out of nowhere...There's this huge human(dads 6'3"ish)...it was just there...huge...scared the crap out of me...I didn't know what to do...so I ran.
Mom laughed and laughed and snorted and laughed some more.
Hope it sounds funny typed...Scott
