My son is a chef and he told me last night that he did indeed eat 6 crackers in a minute. It seems this is a common event in the kitchen scene. He also told me he saw this very huge person eat 8 in less than a minute. I tried it and got to 13 seconds to swallow just one so I didn't even bother to continue.

And now for something completely different.

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... "goodnight, sleep tight."

"Revielle, revielle, all hands heave out and tryce up."

In berthing compartments aboard Navy ships the lowest of the three racks (beds) in a stack is hinged at the back, and the whole bed pivots up and fastens to the one above it with a heavy canvas strap. This allows morning sweepers to swab the deck without obstruction. That is the order to "tryce up".

I don't watch any Oprah. Sometimes I retain these useless little facts and can't shake 'em for the life of me. I've know about aglets since grade school.

Speaking of Braille, my father in law was principal of The Missouri School for the Blind for many years. It was ridiculous the amount of people who would ask him if he knew sign language when they found out he work for the school for the blind. SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND, PEOPLE! THEY CAN"T SEE SIGN LANGUAGE...lol If he had a nickel for every time he was asked that he would have retired a few years earlier:)

The size of nails are noted by its "penny" size, ie 8d, 16d 40d, ect. The origin is how many pennies a blacksmith would charge to make 100 nails of a certain size.
