| This shouldn't be this hard, I swear. I have a Vista desktop computer, and an XP Home laptop computer. My internet connection comes through the wall of my house, directly into a wireless router. The router is connected via ethernet cable to the desktop. The laptop connects to the internet wirelessly through that router. When I set that up, of course I had to enter in a SSID and WPA key in the router configuration, then the same things up here on my laptop to make it connect securely. Done, and the internet works great on the laptop (has for 2 years now). Now I want to share files between the laptop and the desktop. How do I do that? |

You can put both computers in the same Workgroup.
With mixing XP and Vista I've had to make sure that my logins and passwords were the same on both machines as well.
Once you've set up theworkgroup and logins, you should be able to see the other computer through My Networks on either one of them. |

yea just set up a network
and give your computer access to the other one vice versa
thast how mine is set up, no i dont know how but its something like that- i hope its pointing you in the right direction as far as "how do i set up a network"...

| Heh, that was easy. I just set my desktop to have the same workgroup as my laptop, and made sure they have different "names," and then it showed up in my network places. There you have it. Thanks, folks! |
