I'm overwhelmed with the out pouring of support for me to become a member of you team (sniffles and wipes away a small tear), but still no word from Jeb. Someone needs to go over to his house and ring his bell for me (oops, I meant to say "ring his door bell for me") and tell him I'm still waiting for his response.
Thank you all, for the welcome and well wishes. (Don, I hope you see how much support I'm getting from the masses :)) This has become my life's quest, so I hope things move a long soon so I can get back to the whole world domination thing I put aside to pursue this.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to go find out why those damn air raid sirens keep going off. (frackin plutonium, always getting over heated)
All smiles and chuckles while I await the fate of the car knowledge savvy, The one, the only NikonJeb, lets give him a nice warm welcome shall we. (many, many hands come together in thunderous applause).
Soon all will be right with the world:)
MAX!

Hello Max my friend! I can vouch for the fact that Max really does exist, or at least I have met a man claiming to be Max. So either way, there is a real person behind the cyber being.
Since no one else has put in a "claim form" on him yes, I want to be the first to go on record as saying that if Fearless Leader agrees, Max would make a wonderful addition to "team chasing butterflies" here in our uber competitive suck league. :) |

I could go round and yank his chain.

Iksnay with the critical masses. If you're at all keen on democracy, don't let on to the fearless leader. This is an enlightened dictatorship.

I stuck a few touristy pictures from Brussels in my portfolio, including one of my dining companion, Snoopy:

Raish,
You should always use caps for Fearless Leader, or you risk being bannished to the dungeons where hordes of roaming rats will feast on your eyeballs when you sleep.

Oops....
Any other time I'm hangin' around being a nuisance.....somebody calls me and I'm outta touch.....okay, more than usual.
One thing I have found after many years of automotive involvement is the sheer extent of my ignorance.
That said, I did specialize in extensive knowledge of strange cars, and it's well known amongst my peers in the oddball car community that I have a propensity to develop an attachment for orphan bastard cars......the ones that had a bad habit of being transition cars, or something obtuse that they only made a few of, which this Tudhope falls neatly into the category thereof.
And......I NEVER heard of one of the goofy things.
Truth be told, with the exception of the assorted car plants that are satellites of the Detroit Big Three, I cannot say that I've ever heard of a Canadian car.

Hi All,
I'm sitting here typing this with a new feel of total exhaustion. I'm just back from the charity bike ride. And it was MARVELOUS ... except for the first day of drenching rains and the other 6 of bathing humidity and burning sun.
Nope, truth be told I had a blast!! I worked as the videographer's assistant. We were on the road by 5 AM and done for the day somewhere between 5 and 6 PM. Now as opposed to riding a bike for 70-90 miles per day this sounds like a cakewalk, right?!? Lots and lots of hard work ... and I loved every minute.
We hunted down those pesky bikers, searched out idylic scenery, blocked those with flat tires so that other motorists would not him them by accident, hid from the bikers (they always like finding us), and I personally shot 39 hours of video and around 800 photos.
I even learned about video editing and will be helping with the production of the final DVD (to be premiered and presented to each and every participant around Thanksgiving).
Jeanne
PS: I think I may have found another hobby. WOW!!! Now I need to buy a new kind of camera. (Oh yeah, did I mention that I never shot video before?)
PS2: I discovered that I was allergic to something in the sunblock ... so I also battled sunburn PLUS hives. Yikes.

Sounds like a blast!! I'd have loved it. Glad to hear you did, too! And I look forward to the pictures, even if they are old-fashioned still shots. :-) Glad to hear you survived, too, even with the sunburn and hives. |

Sounds like tons of fun! Now go bathe in calamine lotion and have a nice cold beer.
I'm doing an outdoorsy shoot with a model tomorrow - should be still on the homepage - been getting useful hints, so if anyone here has any to add, please feel free to do so.

I have nothing to add except you go, girl! That's very cool! I've not shot models but you've been getting some good pointers in that thread. Have fun with it, and good luck! |

I swear I'm ready to swear off challenges. While I'm at it, does anyone wanna give me some feedback on my Anything But entry? I really didn't think it deserved a sub 5 score. I also posted an outtake which was my original entry but I changed it when I heard rumblings of people going to dnmc to anything in landscape orientation.

It's killing me to think I might make it to a 5^ average soon
...and another milestone is that I have 5,000+ profile views!
I better chat it up on that profile if folks are looking :)
Somebody feels the need to go shopping and eat dinner, so when I come back I hope to see more votes and comments ;) |

My membership expires in 21 days and I can't find a reason at the moment to renew it. I have entered challenges, the votes and comments have been obscure and nothing to do with the original context of the site...a challenge site, not a photo competion site...I am confused.
I have been here quite a few years now and have learnt a lot about the technical side. I think my photos are good and meet the challenges, maybe not ribbon winners, but comsistent and average. Yet the scores are below average and this is a real reason for concern.
This weekend I visited a local garden show where one category was photos, and without being egotistical or bigheaded, I have dumped better photos than those that won. So, why should I renew my membership??

I'd have to say the main reason is because we enjoy your company. And a cool place to post pictures just to share. Side challenges are worthwhile, in my opinion. I'd like to participate in more of them but end up not having the opportunity to shoot as much as I'd like. Anyway, I'd prefer you stick around. |

There are many people here who are better photographers than their average score received would imply. I personally keep renewing for the friendships, the portfolio space, and because I like being a part of this site. I would miss you if you were to leave, both you personally and also your portfolio. |
