yo --
we have a little Fuji that we use for quick stuff at work. sweet little camera.
BUT every now and then (and this is happening enough to cause me consternation), we'll fire up the camera and get a message that the "Card is not Initialized." it seems to happen after the card has been taken out and put into a reader attached to a computer.
thing is, it's not consistent. and it's happened with multiple cards and on multiple computers.
i'm using smart cards with it (it also takes CF, but i've not used them with it). anyone else ever get this error on ANY Fuji camera? just curious. i don't use it everyday, so i don't know it very well.
thanks! |

Go to //www.dpreview.com and click on forums and then fuji and do a search on this. There are several solutions to this problem. When mine did that, I had to go buy a new card.

That happenned to me as well. All I did was turn it off and then back on again, and all was fine. It did that for probably the whole time I had it. I don't recall it ever happening with a CF card.
I din't think it's a big deal, perhaps just a strange quirck of the cam/smart media combination.

It happend once with a 1024mb microdrive with pics on it. Never went out of the camera. Suddenly the error message: ARRRRRRRGGGGGGH!
Flicked it on/off about five times and hey, card is there again, with all the pics on it.

I have (am borrowing) a Fujifilm MX-600 - an older camera which uses smartmedia cards. I've recently purchased a new card, and even with this card, the camera occasionally displays 'no card', and has to be turned off and on again to recognise it. Also, after taking a pic with plenty of room on the card, it will record it, display 'card full', then after a few seconds, continue on as normal.

I have had this problem when I take the card out - copy images to my PC, delete photos from the card and put it back in.
In each case I have just gone into the preview option and had it format the card - since there were not any photos on it everything was fine.

that used to happen to me with smartmedia cards, with a card reader that didn't work too well... now i just use the USB cable and have never had that problem.
