Today was Remebrance Day in Canada. I took out my 75-300mm and had fun with candids. Some are more serious, but this is the funniest of the bunch:
I have 20 other pics posted here.
Anyone else take some pictures for Remembrance Day or Veterans's Day?

No, but I did think about the Edmund Fitzgerald yesterday (being from Michigan).
It's a shame that memorials for veterans and such in the US are usually fairly location specific (i.e. Washington DC and State capitals) Where I live, I don't see any sort of memorials or parades or such on these types of days...
BTW, great pictures you have there. Was it raining or are those tears on the nose of the soldier? Excellent capture on "cutie".

I̢۪m a Vietnam Vet and I must admit today has a somber feeling to it. My hopes are they,our troops, all return safely and want them to know I am 100% behind what they are doing. Thank you Jacko for this thread.

My wife and I went to the Rememberance Day ceremony at the Commons in Halifax where the cenotaph is located. We got there early to get a good spot, but we didn't expect that so many people would be there. It was our first time being at the Rememberance Day activities in Halifax so we didn't really have any idea how many people would be there. Turned out to be lots... over 1000 for sure. It quickly came apparent that I wouldn't get any good shots of the veterans, so I gave it up.
Went for lunch and stopped by the cenotaph before heading home and snapped a few shots of a drawing left with the wreaths.

Beautiful pictures, Dennis and brother. The grade 4 kids at school here made a bunch of origami cranes for Remembrance Day. It looked very beautiful. I love the picture of the girl yawning!! Good colours too.
