also...my rebel XT is my first DSLR...should I keep it or sale it to help finance the buy? I have enough money to buy the 40D without hurting...but is it useless to keep my XT after owning a more powerful camera?

I'll have to dig it up, but there was a thread (I think) about htem just in the past day or so. If it is the same site, then no, because they basically do the whole bait and switch thing.

It's always a good idea to keep a back up camera. As for the site...I can't help you there.

what judi said about a backup is true. even if you never use it, it helps just knowing it is "there."

2.22/10 on resellerratings.com Thats not good, I wouldn't buy from there, you can read customer reviews also. better to look at B&h or adorama.com I think.
Generally the cheapest you can find online really isn't that cheap. It will most likely be a bait and switch and they will charge for things that should come with your camera, like a battery and charger. In the end the price will be at least as expensive but with a headache.

Not too good of a rating from pricegrabber.com

See reviews here

I personally have a very hard time buying anything online. I usually just print what̢۪s offered and take it into my local camera store and see if they will match it. I always get some sort of a deal.
