Does anyone have a recommendation for an insurance provider in Canada? I'm traveling for a few weeks and want to insure my gear.

| No, but I called my home insurance provider and verified the gear was covered when traveling (to Canada) and it was. You should/could check, you might already be taken care of. |

| you may want to be clear about home much you want your gear to be covered for, my regular policy covers a small amount, to have it all really covered, I needed an extra add on. |

check about small company/biz. polices vs home ownership polices
some allow stupidity errors, some will never let you sell a picture , some mess up any insurance you will ever have with a house , some times the deductible is not worth it
my current small biz policy covers a max of $2500 out of country...(effectively 0 as they classify it under home insurance policy ..) |

The rider on my home insurance has a $25 deductible (for what's listed in the rider). Without the rider, the deductible is $500.

| All insurance companies provide discounts if you've never had a claim and some (Ontario is probably different than Alberta) increase premiums once you make a claim. It's called increased risk. If you tend to have your stuff stolen more often than person B, expect to pay more. |
