Yes sir it is, in about 1/2 hour rollover starts, and that is when the 2 new challenges will be announced, then we all rush out in a mad frenzy and take pretty pictures!!!

PS, by the way, we are going to kick your pretty butts hehehahahahahhahaaaaa

Well, technically not by server time, but we've been through this before.

I don't want to speak for the others on the team Juliet, so I'll just thank you personally for the compliment! :-)

Team Jokers: vatch out fer these Germans!

lol, ya know what I mean Steve, but teh rollover has happened and we have good solid challenges to start it off with.

I think these two challenges are going to be very difficult to get high scores in, seeing as we have just had the landscapes challenges adn people will be bored with them.

So you all have to really pull out all the stops on this and wow them all. have to take really bad photos now

Hey why am i giving you guys the pep talk, I am in the wrong club!

I saw the Landscape challenge come up and just thought "huh? we just did that?" and then the 4's started rolling in on my entry, so I'm thinking Weathered this time around.

In the interest of unbridled laziness, I'm copying over pjangel's first day speech to the Spiderman team. It really says everything I want to say.

Good MorningEvening Team SpidermanJokers!!!

Is everyone ready for the games to begin? Just a reminder that the first challenges will behave been announced at rollover tonight. Also, let's make sure that if we are critiquing each others photos that we don't vote on them. Let's give honest feedback for each other so that we can submit the best images possible, that means if you think my photo sucks... TELL ME. LOL!!! I know that we have a great team, so let's get a big lead and make everyone chase us!

Kari -

You should do another tree shot - that was cool.

So, when Roger had to go due to other obligations I talked Mrs. Jaxter into joining the team. I'll send you all her email address so we can get her on the distro list.

Hey everyone!

Looking forward to kicking some butt with the rest of you :). Do I need to pick a number for a jersey? If so 3 has always been good for me. I'll be shooting for the Landscapes challenge this week.

I think he means this one:

I agree... that is a gorgeous shot... might be worth repeating.

Wow. I thought I had a very unique, but very fitting entry for Urban landscapes. (and still do) Apparently the voters are underwhelmed. Sure you still want me for the team, or will I be gettin a layoff notice? :-)

In light of that, I think I will be looking for something weathered, that isn't a barn or a house. I've got a few ideas, but we'll have to see what else I can find. I live in Orlando, where nothing existed pre 1950's and our motto is "tear it down and build something prettier."

Ok, looking at your portfolio again I realize that had to be the most inanely unspecific request ever. I meant this one:

Same here - got one great comment though and I'm up to 5.0 on 28 votes, so at least I'm out of the dreaded 4's.

Yeah, hate the 4s.

There is nothing weathered in Orange County, particularly since most vist the plastic surgeon at the first sign of weathering.

Chowchilla should provide some interesting opportunities for weathered, not to mention all of near centenarians at the family reunion.

That's my gripe with most of LA.

Kim - these are exclusive challenges (the two of them only) so you can submit to only one or the other (you can of course change your mind, resubmit, etc. all the way up to rollover). You will upload directly to the challenge, btw, not to your port first and then to the challenge.

Jokers - I've created a Flickr group so we can have a bit more privacy from the other teams and make photo commenting a bit easier (I think) than posting URL's and emailing. If you don't already have one, go create a free flickr account then add me as a friend (my account name is therealsocalsteve and my email is steve@otms.com). Once you do that I'll add you to the group. I think that's how it works. Let me know when you add me, I'm not sure if I'm notified or not.

Dawn I left you a comment on your previously "commentless" free study (I hate that, every image deserves some comment!) .

My last free study took a beating as well when I was expecting 5.5-5.8.

After looking at both of these I see something in common with mine, and I'll try to articulate the thought: while they are both technically good, they don't have much "life" to them - action, story, etc. Too much of a pic of the world that everyone sees every day, instead of something out of the ordinary, or seen in a different way. It has to have something "special" about it that people can connect to personally (i.e. get some kind of emotional response) to get the higher scores. My opinion, of course.
